There's two ways to interpret that phrase I know.

It seems no hole is so deep that even after you do the almost impossible and get out of it, you can't still jump in and start digging again.

What completely confuses me is that it's not even reprints with the "original ending." We all know that Marvel's original intent was to kill off Peter Parker (who was the clone) and have Ben Reilly (who was the true Spider-Man) take over. This has no bearing on the current Spider-Man series and yet it's all-new material...?
From what I remember, the Clone Saga ran for considerably more than 6 issues. Maximum Clonage, anyone?
I don't think they were going to kill Peter, just let him go off with MJ and live happily ever after and let Ben take over the family business.
See, this is my problem with Brand New Day. Why set up this 'new' and 'fresh' scenario if all they are going to do is rehash really tired old concepts that weren't well thought through in the first place?
Having Harry obviously being set up to become the Goblin again is the big one that's buggin me. (I have only read up as far as 'New Ways to Die')
Doc, you said you'd cut down on your superhero comics lately. Do you still get Spider-man?
But nothing ever goes away. Once a writer puts something into a comic then its part of that superheroes make-up from now till the crack of Doom. How long until Gwen and Osbourne's kids come back?
Another example, from a different perspective: No matter how well they write Supergirl, they are never going to get away from the fact that Loeb made her deeply flawed from the get-go. The fact that they revealed that she had a very dark persona in her origin story can never really be ignored and she will suffer as a character for that going forward.
And has Howard Mackie still been writing comics all this time?

Yes, I still buy Spidey.
I don't think Harry is gonna stay on the side of devils.
Mackie has been gone for a looooong time.
I won't be picking up the Clone stuff...didn't like it then...don't like it now...

Maybe I just heard ugly rumors. Although I DID read Spider-Man: The Last Adventure, which, from what I remember, was terrible. What a way to go...
But he never stays on the side of the Angels for long either does he? Kind of my point.
from Doc B Mackie has been gone for a looooong time
Since about the Clone Saga, would you say? Funny that!
But this re-picking at barely healed scars is a mind-boggling decision. Gwen's kids are next.
