There was that teaser for "The Mighty" or whatever it is, you know, the hero team that's the heroic counterpart to The Worthy, where the first time we saw the teaser Thor was in it, but the second time he was replaced by a Hulk or something. So we had a clue something was up.
What I find intriguing is that he appears to be wearing modified Destroyer armor.
