November PREVIEWS Spotlights
IDW’s TRANSFORMERS Relaunch,
Infestation #2, and DC’s Green Lantern #5

BALTIMORE, MD — The November edition of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog arrives in comic shops, hobby stores, and other direct market outlets on November 2 and features comic books, graphic novels, toys, and additional pop culture products scheduled to go on sale beginning January 2012.

For the first time in over a decade, Diamond will offer dual front outside covers, with half of the copies printed featuring a TRANSFORMERS Relaunch cover and the other half an INFESTATION 2 cover – both representing upcoming IDW Publishing series. The IDW cover not displayed on the outside of the catalog will instead be featured as the inside cover, so readers will get both covers no matter what version they pick up.

First, in the wake of IDW’s “The Death of Optimus Prime” storyline, two new TRANSFORMERS series will hit comic shop shelves in January. In the new TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE, Bumblebee leads the Autobots remaining and will forge their future on Cybertron. Meanwhile, in TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE, Rodimus Prime leads a group of TRANSFORMERS through space on a quest to find the Knights of Cybertron, believed to have created and guarded Cybertonian culture long ago.

The TRANSFORMERS are going to have a very busy month, because while those two new series introduce readers to the all-new direction for the Robots in Disguise, INFESTATION 2 sees Lovecraftian demons threaten the worlds of the TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Danger Girl, and 30 Days of Night in a sequel to IDW’s first multi-title event.

But that only sums up the inspiration for the two front covers of November’s catalog. The back cover for the month is dedicated to GREEN LANTERN #5, in which Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Sinestro will be forced to put their differences aside long enough to fight Sinestro’s former Lantern Corps for control of his home world.

November PREVIEWS Features

Turkeys vs. Comics
In honor of Thanksgiving, this month’s FLIPside feature uses many of the covers dedicated to the holiday to tell the story of how favorite comic book characters have been waging war against turkeys for years. Bon appétit.

PREVIEWS Exclusive Apparel
This month’s line-up of PREVIEWS Exclusive apparel available only in comic book specialty shops features a variety of comic, video game, and pop culture T-shirt designs, including Deadpool/Spider-Man: “Dual Danger,” X-Men: “Don’t Trouble Us,” Thundercats: “Chrome Logo,” G.I. JOE: “Six Fists,” and Godzilla: Final Wars – “EDF Logo 2.” You won’t find these anywhere else other than a comic book or hobby shop in your area.

Indie Edge

In the November catalog’s creator feature David Lapham, the Eisner Award-winning writer of Stray Bullets and Crossed, talks about the new type of werewolf he introduces in Avatar’s new ongoing horror series, FERALS, as well as the comics he recommends you add to your reading list.
