I've been converting a large collection of old records to digital format. A lot of strange things here. One of them was Linus Pauling on Fallout and Nuclear War, another was Cheap Thrills. A lot of them I recognize and a lot of them I don't. One song on the album Tops in Pop Artists caught my attention because of the name of the singer. "Pee Wee Hunt". That was a name I'd remembered from a Buzz Droopy cartoon but I remembered it was Pee Wee Runt. I checked and the cartoon was from 1954. Makes me wonder how many other celebrities of the day were in the cartoons I watched as a kid and never recognized as celebrities.

Caricatures of Jerry Colonna appeared in several Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies cartoons. His Wikipedia page has a list.
Cartoons were like Dr. Who or the Muppets, on of my favorites is when Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall mixed in with Elmer and Bugs. But some of the celebrities I never recognized as a a kid, like the Great Gildersleeve or Carmen Miranda.
One Looney Tunes cartoon had Bugs (and probably Elmer) run through a USO canteen during WWII, and everyone in there was a recognizable Hollywood star. I remember Bogey and Bacall, but also Clark Gable, W.C. Fields, Cary Grant and others. I think. I was young and didn't recognize them all.
