RIP Jill Sobule

I don't know how many of you were fans of the indie folksinger, best known for  "Supermodel" (which appeared, among other places, in the soundtrack for Clueless), "I Kissed A Girl" (Not the Katy Perry song, but the earlier one that's actually about same-sex attraction and featured 90s icon Fabio in the video), and the musical F--k Seventh Grade, died in a housefire. She was 66.

.

.

There is an insightful and amusing comparison of the two "I Kissed A Girl" songs here, written by an online acquaintance.

  • I enjoyed reading that. Thanks for the link!

  • I saw her live a number of years ago. She was one of two opening acts for Mark Eitzel. An interesting performer, God rest her soul. If she were alive today, Eitzel would probably be opening for her. I doubt Mark would have minded.
