This is one of my favorite new series. It's a hoot to read. Reed is a cowboy who rides a bear and he gets in all sorts of Pecos Bill-like adventures.It's got high adventure, a bit of silliness and great characters.
I can see this going on for the long haul -- kind of like how Usagi Yojimbo has exhaustively explored the ideas of feudal Japan with funny animals. Reed could do the same thing for the Wild, Wild West.
The first issues would make an excellent blueprint/storyboard/bible for a cartoon series. I'm sure that's what they're hoping ...
I'm liking it too. It's good that Image is doing it, to give it a little more visibility than it would have otherwise. I'm always amazed at the myriad comics in Previews by guys I've never heard of with a postage-stamp size image and a one-sentence summary. I hope they're reaching their audience somehow, because a lot of them look interesting. But that's not enough to get me to try it.
