“Copperhead is the best Image debut of the year and my favorite new comic.” -- Brian K. Vaughan
Writer Jay Faerber (NEAR DEATH, DYNAMO 5) and artist Scott Godlewski (Dracula: The Company of Monsters) team up with colorist Ron Riley (NEAR DEATH, DYNAMO 5) and letterer/designer Thomas Mauer (UNDERTOW, UMBRAL) to bring readers an all-new science fiction western series this September from Image Comics.
Clara Bronson is a single mother and the new sheriff in Copperhead, a small mining town on a distant planet. But while Clara might seem like an ordinary lady in all respects, she has one or two secrets she’s hiding ... and secrets don’t last long in a small town like Copperhead.
No one’s quite sure where Clara came from or why she took the job as sheriff in the first place. Some suspect she might be on the run from someone, trying to start life anew. Being the sheriff of grimy, dust-laden Copperhead is no one’s idea of dream job -- except for maybe the deputy, who had his sights set on being sheriff long before Clara ever arrived. But Clara Bronson’s not the only strange mystery in Copperhead: there’s more to this little community than meets the eye.
“Scott and I are having the time of our lives bringing this crazy Western/sci-fi mash-up to life,” said Faerber. “Combine Deadwood with Firefly and throw in a whole bunch of aliens, and you've got Copperhead.”
Set in the 24th century and featuring Western archetypes through a sci-fi lens, COPPERHEAD is a fresh new series that readers won’t want to miss out on.

RYAN BROWNE’s (THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS, BEDLAM) farcical cult-sensation returns with a new story perfect for new readers!
First announced at the C2E2 conference, Ryan Browne’s (THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS, BEDLAM) farcical cult-sensation GOD HATES ASTRONAUTS returns with a new story this September from Image Comics.
In GOD HATES ASTRONAUTS, a NASA-funded group of arrogant "super people" must stop a rash of farmers that have been using rocket-powered silos to launch themselves into outer space. As these Astro-Farmers fire themselves all over the galaxy, NASA must utilize their every resource (a guy with a ghost-cow head, a bunch of magic bears and a Chicago cop with robot arms) to avoid an intergalactic incident.
"Jumping from weekly web-comic to large scale epic adventure has been extremely challenging and rewarding,” said Browne of his transition from webcomic to Kickstarter project to an ongoing print series with Image Comics. “It was very important to make God Hates Astronauts #1 a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, while having enough allusions and references to the old material for the series' die-hard fans. I hope you guys like astronaut farmers with laser pitchforks, space crab armadas and three-dimensional cowboy narrators! Rest assured, it will all make sense yet be as stupidly ridiculous as the law will allow!"

For the first time in the 65 years since they divided the world, the 16 Families are gathering again. For Malcolm Carlyle, it is an opportunity to identify and eliminate his enemies. For Jakob Hock, it is an opportunity to exact for revenge. And for Forever Carlyle, it’s the first step in discovering the truth about who she is, and what she is destined to become.
"Greg Rucka! He is the coolest graphic writer. I love him... Lazarus is sick." -- Michelle Rodriguez, actress
“Lazarus, the dense cyberpunk Mafia world will keep them coming back to the comic racks for weeks to come… Fans of Rucka and Lark’s Gotham Central or Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ Sleeper will enjoy this rich universe.” -- Booklist
Eisner Award-winning writer Greg Rucka and Eisner Award-winning artist Michael Lark return with the eagerly anticipated new story arc of the New York Times bestselling dystopian thriller, LAZARUS. A dark marriage of Divergent and The Godfather, LAZARUS #11 will blow away fans of the series with its next installment of Forever Carlyle’s journey: “Conclave.” This is the perfect entry point for those who haven’t yet started the series that critics can’t stop raving about.
Rucka hinted that the new story arc to the series will kick things up a notch, whereas the first year laid the groundwork for readers and focused on world building and character development. “This is the first time we get to see the majority of the power players in our world all in the same place -- the ruling Families and, in many cases, their Lazari,” said Rucka.
“The Carlyle Family finds itself backed into a corner with the alliance of its enemies, and by the end of the story, the map of the world will be redrawn yet again. For Forever especially, this is a crucial arc—romance and betrayals will abound, and by its end, she'll be taking the first steps towards her destiny, and that destiny will quite literally shape the world. An avalanche starts with a pebble, and with this arc, the rocks are beginning to roll.”

ODDLY NORMAL #1

Story / Art / Cover: OTIS FRAMPTON
SEPTEMBER 17 / 32 PAGES / FC / E / $2.99
Image Comics is pleased to announce the launch of cartoonist Otis Frampton's charming all-ages ongoing fantasy series, ODDLY NORMAL!
ODDLY NORMAL is an all-ages fantasy adventure in the tradition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Alice's Adventures In Wonderland.
A little bit The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with a splash of Liz Kessler’s Emily Windsnap series, ODDLY NORMAL is an all-new ongoing series written and illustrated by Otis Frampton (How It Should Have Ended, ABCDEFGeek) that will enchant readers of all ages. Image Comics is pleased to reveal early artwork from ODDLY NORMAL, which follows the adventures of a ten-year-old girl with pointed ears, green hair, and an anything-but-ordinary life.
Oddly inherited her pointed ears and emerald hair color from her mother, who hails from a magical land called Fignation, and as you can imagine, this makes fitting in at a school full of mortals challenging to say the least.
On her tenth birthday, feeling misunderstood and alone, Oddly makes a disastrous wish over the candles of her birthday cake and her parents vanish from existence. Now, with the aid of her great aunt, Oddly must travel to Fignation to live under Auntie’s care while the elder witch works to uncover the mystery of their disappearance.
But when Oddly arrives in Fignation, she is enrolled in Menagerie Middle School, a learning institution filled with all manner of pint-sized monstrosities. “Now she is an outcast simply for being ordinary,” explained Frampton. “During her time in this new world, Oddly must contend with the trials and tribulations of being a normal ten year old, but they take unusual and sometimes dangerous forms; bullying by ravenous vampires and werewolves … rivalries with full-blooded witches and broom races through canyons filled with deadly creatures … crushes on one of the most popular boys in the school who just happens to be a member of a super-hero team from Oddly’s favorite comic book.”
For anyone who has ever felt like a little bit of an outsider, ODDLY NORMAL is a coming-of-age story that will enchant readers and inspire the imaginations of even the oldest children at heart.
“I'm absolutely thrilled that Oddly Normal will be published by Image Comics,” said Frampton. “It's a 20-year dream come true to have a creator-owned book at the company that made me want to make comics professionally. When I sent out submissions for this book, Image was my ‘never gonna happen, but I gotta take the shot’ company. I couldn't be happier with how that long-shot pitch turned out!”

Now all she has to do is sit back in 1986 and watch the future unfold how it's "supposed" to ... but growing up ain't easy. Unknown to her, she's not the only person from the hi-tech alternate 2014 stuck in the ‘80s. And with the keys to the future in their hands, Quintum Mechanics isn't content to simply let time take its course.
“Readers will have to judge what gets more twisted: the temporal paradoxes, or the motivations of characters faced with impossible adventures,” said Montclare. “Plus you get all the fun stuff: amazing visuals split between an '80s NYC period piece and the high-flying future city, action, speed and one of the most unique casts of characters in comics. I'm thrilled the ‘80s adventures of DaYoung Johansson are back with #6 and a new Rocket Girl arc. The support from retailers and readers has been awesome -- I know they can't wait too!”
"Rocket Girl has been the greatest creative experience of my career,” added Reeder. “I think it shows on the page, and I'm happy the reception to the first arc was so positive. But you ain't seen nothing yet! The ‘Split Second’ arc is going to knock off some socks."
"Clever premise, charming scenario, kickass girl hero, snappy script and luscious, expressive art. I need this. You need this. Everyone needs this.” -- Gail Simone
“A time-travelling teen police force is the stuff my dreams are made of -- thank you for making them come true, Rocket Girl." -- Fiona Staples
