Have you seen "Super" starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon?
It's a comedy-drama about a man compelled to become "The Crimson Bolt" and while it starts out funny, it quickly veers off into "Kick-Ass" territory.
I highly recommend it, but please be warned it gets really violent toward the end. That being said, like "Kick-Ass" it explores what would happen to a guy who actually really did try becoming a superhero who makes a difference.
Ellen Page plays an exuberant comic-store clerk who joins him in the battle.
