I picked up My Little Pony today and was struck, as I was struck a while back by Adventure Time, on how much more flexible an all ages comic can be. Adventure Time has gone through noir style detective stories, horror stories and alternate romance stories and in this issue of MLP they go through variations of Lord of the Rings, Zombie attacks, Star Trek, noir detective and next issue they seem to be doing a bit of Harry Potter.
It's like the younger age that you go for the more freedom you have in story style.
