I grabbed this out of my new-found Marvel Now curiosity. I'm really glad I did. First off, I was stunned by Ron Garney's artwork. It was like I had never seen a book drawn by Ron Garney before. He looked like a Jim Lee acolyte. This could have been greatly influenced by Danny Miki's inks, but man, it was like a whole other artist. And this comes from someone who liked Ron Garney before. Nonetheless, it was a really cool look.
There has been a big deal made out of the *gosh* team of X-Men which is made entirely out of women. But this could pretty much be that book as well. We have Puck, but other than that, it's all women. Oh, that and a screaming Bishop, but other than that, all ladies, namely Storm and Psylocke. These ladies seem to be good lady-buddies now, despite Psylocke's anger at the world post-X-Force.
There was some kind of incident with a villain named Spiral (but the cover seems to suggest that she's going to be a member of the team). I didn't get it. I don't know Spiral, but I'm willing to find out.
And Fantomex kissed his female clone.
Pretty good altogether. I'm at least interested enough to buy the next issue.
