History: Hearing of his father's death, Prince Hamlet of Denmark returns home from Wittenberg, only to find that his uncle Claudius has assumed the throne and married Hamlet's mother, Gertrude. Already suspicious, Hamlet is visited by a spirit purporting to be that of his father, which asserts that the elder Hamlet was murdered by Claudius. Feigning madness, Prince Hamlet, with his friend Horatio's help, schemes to trap Claudius into a public admission of guilt, which would allow Hamlet to avenge his father and assume the throne of Denmark. Claudius, aware of the threat that Hamlet poses to him, plots to find a way to eliminate Hamlet. Thus begins a game of trap and counter-trap, resulting in the deaths of almost everyone involved, leaving only Horatio behind to watch as young Fortinbras, Prince of Norway, assumes the throne of Denmark.

Why He's a Favorite: Hamlet is the protagonist of my favorite Shakespeare play. I own eight different versions of the play of on DVD, and I enjoy watching them all.  there's just something that I find enthralling about the play, and it's always interesting to see how various actors interpret the part, and how different directors choose to film the story. I enjoy the cat and mouse between Hamlet and Claudius, and Hamlet's interaction with the not-as-clever-as-he-thinks-he-is Polonius. I find it interesting that the only character who seems to be able to match Hamlet's at wordplay is the First Gravedigger. Anyway, you can find way more of what I think about Hamlet here.

    Real name: Unknown

     Aliases/Other Names: .Black General

First Appearance: Zannen Onna Kanbu Black General-san (a.k.a. Precarious Woman Executive Miss Black General), Monthly Dragon Age, May 9, 2015

    Occupations: Villain

Bases of Operations: RX Organization, Headquarters, Japan

Place of Birth: Unknown, presumably Japan

Group Affiliations: RX Organization, the Villain League

Friends/Allies: Members of the RX Organization, unnamed parents

Enemies: The Hero League, the police, the Organization

    Height: 5'3"

    Weight: Unknown

    Eye Color: Red

    Hair Color: Blonde

    Strength: Above average human

    Speed: Above average human

    Intelligence: Average human

    Energy-Manipulation Ability: None

    Magic-Manipulation Ability: None

Special Abilities: Extremely agile and resilient

Special Weapons/Equipment: A device which enables her to fire an energy beam from her left eye

History: She was a young woman who was obsessed with super-heroes, especially Braveman.  She became a villain and joined the RX Organization in order to be in a better posiition to pursue Braveman. In addition to participaing in  RX's operations, she occasionally teamed up with Braveman to battle the Organization, which attacked both the heroes and the villains.

Why She's a Favorite: Precarious Woman Executive Miss Black General  is an amusing  super-hero parody that has elements mocking various tropes of super-hero comics. The General, like Excel from Excel Saga, is a funny riff on the "energetic girl", enthusiastically doing things without stopping to think about whether they were useful things or not. There are several references to American comics here.  Braveman strongly resembles a certain Caped Crusader (He even has a nemesis called the Jester!) and another character called "Metal Prisoner" strongly resembles a certain Armored Avenger.

    Aliases/Other Names: None,

First Appearance: Hakumei to Mikochi (2011

    Occupations: Researcher

    Bases of Operations: Makinata

Place of Birth: The Gadai Region

    Group Affiliation: None

    Friends/Allies: Conju, Hakumei, Jada, Mikochi

    Enemies: None

Height: Unknown, but only a few inches

    Weight: Unknown

    Eye Color: Violet

    Hair Color: Ash blonde

    Strength: Average (small) human

    Speed: Average (small) human

    Intelligence: Genius level human

    Energy-Manipulation Ability: None

Special Abilities: Expert scientist, especially with sonics

    Special Weapons/Equipment: Various sound-based inventions

History:  Sen was a young researcher who settled in Makinata to study various sound-based phenomena. She befriended Hakumei and Mikochi and became part of their social circle, having various adventures with them.

Why She's a Favorite:  Hakumei and Mikochi (to give its English title) is set in a world where tiny humans live alongside sentient animals, at about an early Nineteenth Century level of technology. It’s a sort of idealized version of Old Japan where everyone gets along and lives more or less at one with nature. The story focuses on two young women who share a treehouse together. Hakumei is a jill-of-all-trades who works construction, and Mikochi is more of a homebody who is an excellent cook, seamstress and singer. Besides Sen. Their friends include Conju, a songstress, and Jada, a barber, among others.

What I like about Sen is that she’s the nicest “mad scientist” ever. She’s bookish, shy and socially awkward, traits that I can identify with.

History:  Ororo, a metamutant, was swept overboard while traveling by sea as an infant. She washed up on Themiscyra, where she was adopted by Queen Hippolyta and raised alongside her daughter, Diana. When she reached adulthood, she traveled to “Man’s World”, where she battled injustice, first as “Wonder Woman” and later “Amazon”.  In time, she joined the Judgment League Avengers. Later, she split with them and joined the JLX.

Why She's a Favorite:  This is one of my favorites of the Amalgam characters.  Byrne’s handling of the character really made me think that with the proper creative team, Ororo could become a major solo character.
