With Archie being dead in another part of the Archie universe... Just strange.
It's amazing how the character are and are not like the Archie characters I've always known. Archie is still ernest, determined, Betty is still sweet, Veronica is still a bit too self centered... it's all there but in a form I've never seen before. Even Reggie suddenly realizing how much Midge meant to him.
They are all still in the Lodge Mansion but the defenses are weakening. Betty comforts Archie over having to kill his own parents while a jealous Veronica looks on, Kevin Miller tries to comfort Reggie who snaps at him. The Butler takes center stage on this one as the narrator and we learn a lot about the character of the man (Remains of the Day comes to mind). I'm not sure what is up with Cheryl and her brother, Some zombies try to break in and Archie feels that they should run for it and confronts Mr. Lodge who doesn't. He wins the argument and they shoot fireworks from the roof of the mansion to distract the zombies. While they wait for it to start Veronica takes a shot at Betty, noting that she looks upset and wondering if it is because Archie is too busy organizing the escape to pay attention to her. Better tells her that no, it is because the zombies who tried to break into the mansion were her mother and father. The group manages to sneak out of the mansion, only encountering a zombie Coach Kleats who is peppered with arrows, and makes it outside of Riverdale which is burning.
Next up it looks like Sabrina is back. I don't know if this is a limited series or not. I thought it was.

I think it was originally solicited as a limited series, but was upgraded to an ongoing since it's insanely popular. I hope Francavilla sticks around; his art is a huge draw for me.
I don't see how they can keep it going indefinitely. Once they are out of Riverdale where can they go? Gotta say I haven't seen an art style match a story style like this since Tomb of Dracula as drawn by Gene Colon.
I love the Francavilla art, but I suspect that's the reason every issue is delayed so long. As a trade-waiter, I'm OK with that -- I'd rather wait a year for six issues by Francavilla than get a genuine monthly with fill-in artists. Others may feel differently.

But, yeah, it's a terrific book.
I'm happy to wait, but would be okay with an occasional fill-in spotlight issue.
