Spoilers .
For some reason I've been thinking of the Green Hornet .
No , that's a lie , I know why , while watching the Classic Arts Showcase cable network I saw a live video of James Galway doing The Flight Of The Bumblebee (after Danny Boy , actually ~ " encores " , I suppose) , and I wondered whether the original OTR-era Green Hornet had meant much in the British Isles...I remembered the 2011 Seth Rogen Green Hornet flick , and the umpteen comics Dynamite put out then...I think I bought a mini-series sequel set in the movie's universe , and a couple ishes of mini reprinting the entirety of the Holyoke Golden Age version of the character , deciding that if I bought the hophle thing I'd buy the eventual book . I didn't get into the " star writer " Hornet minis , nor their Kato comics , seeing only freebie/promo first ishes/installments IIRC .
So , lets talk about all incarnations of ol' Horny . The Crimson Avenger , a well , since he was DC's blatant clone of GH .

I wrote about the serial The Green Hornet Strikes Again here, and Doctor Hmmm? and Philip kindly told me what they thought of the recent movie.
Harvey's run was drawn, or partly drawn, by Al Avison. I like his work on the feature because of its Simon and Kirby-like qualities, but my recollection is the Harvey stories don't emphasise the elements that make the Hornet non-generic, with the result that he's not all that interesting in them. But I haven't seen many of them. What I like most about the character is the idea that he pretends to be a crook.
