  • Hmm, interesting. It wasn't perfectly clear in the article, do you know if this will be digital only comics?

  • It now says,  Jet City issues will publish on Kindle as standalone comics, as serialized comics released over multiple episodes, and as bundled graphic novels, with print editions available at amazon.com and other comics retailers."

What release schedule that will follow isn't noted. I would guess it might be digital only to start, and possibly work like DC's digital comics, where they put out individual or partial issues and then collect them into a TPB. OTOH, they could release each comic to stores via Diamond or through their own distribution if they wanted to go that route.

  • I have a kindle fire that I got for my birthday so this really interest me. I wonder if it will be series or just one shots and I also wonder if they'll open it up to self publishers.

  • I just re-read the article, and shame on my poor reading comprehension. It does look like they plan on doing print versions, and even trying to get into comic book stores. With their distribution they should be able to completely bypass Diamond.

Marks, it looks they will be doing serialized stories as well.

  • Diamond ain't gonna like being bypassed.

  • If that happens, they'll just have to take out Amazon. So, no problem. But Amazon might work through Diamond rather than set up an entire system of their own to reach a declining number of stores. OTOH, if anyone could do it, Amazon could.

BTW, Travis, I think the article was expanded from when I first posted it. I'm pretty sure the story wasn't that detailed when I first linked to it, which is why I went back and changed my response. It was getting confusing for us to discuss potential options that were confirmed in the story. The wonders of the Internet.

    Ah, okay. Thanks, MSA

  • Hmm, looks like they are just adapting novels for now. Glad to see Jimmie Broxton is getting a new series though. I liked his work on Knight & Squire.
