Congratulations to Fiona Staples who has been named the Best Artist for 2014. Staples has now won this award for the second time, having previously been named Best Artist in 2012 for Saga's inaugural year.
Congratulations to Nick Dragotta who has been named the Most Underrated Artist for 2014. Dragotta works on East of West for Image Comics.,
Congratulations to Amazing Spider-Man and its family of titles on winning the 2014 Cappie for Best Story Arc for the massive crossover "Spider-Verse." This is the first time ever that Marvel has won this particular award in its 10 years of existence. Spider-Verse also ended a four-year streak of Batman victories in this category.
Congratulations to everyone involved with making Astro City as they've just won the Cappie for Best Ongoing Series in 2014. This is the first win in this category for DC since Fables took home the big prize in 2009.
Congratulations to Black Widow on being named the Most Underrated Title of 2014. There used to be a Cappies curse for this category as the winner was eventually cancelled in the following year but recent winners The Unwritten and Lazarus are still going strong.
Congratulations to Blacksad: Amarillo, this year's Best Original Graphic Novel.
Congratulations to Stray Bullets: Uber Alles. This giant collection has been named the Best Reprint or Archive for 2014.
Congratulations to Spider-Man for winning the Best Male Character Cappie for 2014. Peter Parker's replacement, Otto Octavius, won this award last year- the only villain to have done so. However, this year, Peter reclaimed the mantle and re-established himself as one of the great characters in comics.
Congratulations to Southern Bastards as Coach Boss has been named the Best Villain for 2014. This is the second straight year that an Image character has won this award following Saga's Prince Robot in 2013.
Congratulations to Deadly Class as its protagonist, Marcus Lopez, has been named the Best New Character for 2014. This is the third straight win for Image in this category following Alana from Saga and Velvet Templeton from the titled named after her.
