Cartoons-Reprinting Magazines

Does anyone else remember that in the Nineties there was something of a boom in magazines --- publications --- that tended tyo reprint cartoon and ( Generally . ) humorous features , also some nwespaper comic strips -?

  Like , Dave Barry's columns and ns's of a certain vague " hip " imperneur (Sp??) , like Far Soide/Doonesbury/Calvin & Hobbes .

There were a lotta 'em around the Nineties , as I said , about the Oughties they really started to fade out , here in my new " Surf City " I discovered a newsprint-printed and tabloid-sized one titled The Santa Cruz Cartoon News or similar that is celebrating ts twenty-fifth anniversary , yet...It's not that different from a Sacremento-based one titled The Funny Times that I used to see in SF , only editorial cartoons/simiar reprinted under categories of " what they're cartooning about " with little one-line commentaries by the cartoons...
