Comics for the week of July 14, 2010...thoughts...

Superman - "Grounded" began...see the big thread for thoughts

The X-Universe - Wow...Second Coming ended with a bit of "uh, oh" and a bit of hope. Scott disbanded X-Force, but Logan secretly created his own X-Force team. X-Force: Sex and Violence is a team-up mini starring Domino and Logan...grim and funny in the right measure. X-Men - Brightest...uh...Heroic Age brings the mutants back in the national spotlight in a positive way. I don't think I like Scott and Steve Rogers using the Savage Land as their personal hunting lodge, though. Even Logan only touches the animals he hunts. Cannonball comes into his own as a leader while saving Magik from Limbo with his team.

Batman - the "lost" RIP chapter...not much here to talk about really. Kind of a Morrison disappointment given all the craziness happening in The Return of Bruce Wayne and Batman & Robin.

DC Super Friends ended its run with a fun Comic Con issue. The imps, including Mopee, run amok causing all kinds of wackiness.

Wild Cards #6. Been waiting for this issue, and the conclusion of the series since Dabel Bros. made the announcement of the series. Then #5 was delayed by several weeks. Then Dabel Bros. went under and their titles were aquaired by Dynamite Ent. More delays, but now that issue is out (and the collection confirmed for Sept. 29th), we get a look at the Wild cards universe from another perspective. The art work is excellent, the story does get ahold of you and keep you interested.

Predators (movie adaptation) & Predators: Preserve the Game (one-shot, sequel). After having picked up the prequel mini series, I ordered & picked up these two comics and enjoyed the whole story. The comic only makes me want to see the film (which I am), so I say bravo, Dark Horse!

Perhaps...he keeps following a fan in a Flash costume at the con trying to convince him that he created Flash and the rest of the Justice League...
