Wondering if anyone here has read this, and if they recommend it.  I don't think it's been collected in trade form (although it seems ideal for a collection).  It seems like it would be interesting based on the wiki entry I read, and the creators listed are quite a mix:  Mark Waid and the Dodsons, Mark Millar and Scott Kolins, Karl Kesel and Drew Johnson, Marv Wolfman and Pat Oliffe, Waid and Barry Kitson, Brian Augustyn, Ty Templeton and Norm Breyfogle, Tom Peyer and Bachan, Bob Haney (!!!) and Kevin Maguire, Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson, Geoff Johns and Dick Giordano, and Waid and Eduardo Barreto

  • I have this upstairs somewhere. It's a homage to the Silver Age using Justice League of America #61 as a template where the heroes and villains switch bodies. They substituted better villains in the new version (Black Manta for Cutlass Charlie, Mister Element for Captain Boomerang, Sinestro for the Tattooed Man, etc.). Then they added a lot of other Silver Age heroes like the Teen Titans, Metal Men, Challengers of the Unknown and even Dial H For Hero! It was kooky, surreal and a  (mostly) fun read!

It also inspired the Batman Protocols!

  • It was a bookended "fifth week event" and I found it to be prefectly enjoyable. It don't have any lasting impact on the DCU as a whole, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a throwback to a simpler time and it's interesting to guage how successfully the writers and artists involved were able to emulate it. If you end up liking this one, you might also like the "Julius Schwartz" tribute cover issues. Those aren't trying to copy a Silver Age story, necessarily, just write a story using the cover as a springboard. Each issue contained two stories, and I liked the "Schwartz" issues better than the "Silver Age" ones. Then, if you get the Julius Schwartz tribute issues, you also gotta get the "Stan Lee Meets..." series.

Makes it more of a selling point for me, actually.  I was impressed by the lineup of creators (still trying to wrap my head around Geoff Johns with Dick Giordano) but wanted to know how good it was.  I probably will get the Julie tribute issues too at some point.

Is that the Just Imagine series, or something else?
