Disney Comics

Up here again in San Francisco , I went to, my FCS - Former Comics Shop - and found them selling , in their " kid.s stuff " corner , Disney character titles from Gladstone.s first pitch with the franchise from the later Eighties , displayed as new stuff and selling for cover price , bagged and regular comic books boarded , 75¢ to $1.25 price .   I bought four , digest Uncle Scrooge and Walt Disney.s Comics titles each #2 , #s 250 & 513 of " the " WDC&S and DONALD DUCK titles   I presume that both wdere the

  • ......second issues of the Gladstone I runs as well ??????  Frankly , (My FCS does not really sell back issues , & it only became a comics-selling shop in addition to its main line about 1993  .) I see some Reagan-era comics shop having been GREATLY overoptimistic , I.m afraid , about these titles' appeal to the kids of the Eighties !
      The cover lf WD Digest features Brer' Rabbit , now rather overlooked/obscure in the Disneyverse   ain.t h' lil' varmit ?
      I believe this predated Rosa and the Van Horns being publihed in America and I.m assumig that the issues'tories are all vintage , reprinted ,
    American-produced stories .
      For some months now , the Disney meat and potatos titles , last at Boom! , have been out of North American Anglophone retail racks.........
