Doctor Who #1 from IDW

Yesterday I read Doctor Who #1 from IDW, the first issue of a comic to feature the Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory.  It's written by Tony Lee with art by Andrew Currie. I enjoyed it alot. The story was an amusing take on the problem of internet spam, and managed to capture the characters fairly well. The art was good, and seemed to catch the characters' looks pretty well.   Plus, it made me chuckle out loud, and that ain't easily done.

So, I'd recommend this book, particularly to fans of the Eleventh Doctor.

  • The order was shorted at my shop, so I'll pick it up next week.

  • I was worried about this series because I didn't enjoy the previous series about the tenth Doctor very much. My worries were for nought, though. It was fun, engaging, well-drawn, and the "voices" of our three characters were done correctly. A good job all around.
  • Already on my pull list!
  • Issue #2 of this came out yesterday - it's still holding strong, with the first part of a three part story set in Victorian London, in which the Doctor, Amy and Rory cross paths with a legendary murderer. It's got some nice, atmospheric art by Richard Piers Rayner.
  • Amy:  "Doctor, that tall man in the deerstalker over there.  Is that ...?"

    Doctor:  "Oh, that's just me."
