I've gotten the beta machine to work and on those longer tapes I've found other stuff I'd forgotten I'd taped. Genesis 2, New Adventures of Beans Baxture, an episode of Lady Blue, Return of the Killer Tomatoes, a clip from the Killer Tomatoes cartoon show... odd stuff.

Halloween 1987, Elvira's Video show. You never realize at the time how dated it's going to be until you watch it decades later.
...How so ? The (normal) people's clothes ? Pop-culture references ? The music ?

Car comercials, the style of the videos. The hair styles.
...Okay , thank you . The commercials would be separate from the show itself . Oh , it was a music video show ? I somehow thought it was " normal " Elvira . Did she start broadcasting after the Oak Ridge Boys had that big hit " Elvira " song (which I am aware had been recorded some years before the Oaks' version) ?
I wondered if there was a connection but I never checked it out. As a kid I always liked the Movie Macabre show and I think it helped me develop a fondness for bad horror movies. The show was Elvira Mistress of the Dark showcasing what were at the time popular bands music videos.
Dynaman on USA's Night Flight program. Before the Power Rangers used them, this show did funny voice overs of the Japanese children's programs.
More tapes, more shows that I'd almost forgotten. Captain Power and the Soldiers from the Future, I remember that because you could shoot at the screen and they'd shoot back. From the looks of it I also have the Charmings, not sure what season. Even a Cagney and Lacey Special.
Here's one I completely forgot, Sid and Marty Kroff's DC Follies with Fred Willard.
