The Association of the United States Army (an advocacy organization for Army matters and people) is publishing an ongoing graphic novel series on Medal pf Honor recipients. I believe all of them are written by Chuck Dixon. So far there are seven from various wars (so far all Army guys).
They are short and all worth reading)
I have linked to each of the actual graphic novels, which are free to read. As I become aware of additional issues about other recipients I will post them.
Jacob Parrott of the Civil War (the very first MOH recipient)
Alvin York of World War I
Henry Johnson of World War I
Audie Murphy of World War II
Daniel Inouye of World War II
Roy Benavidez of the Vietnam War
Sal Giunta of the Afghanistan War

By the way, most of these men saved a lot of lives.
Henry Johnson of WWI, an African-American, and Daniel Inouye of WWII, a Japanese American, were not initially awarded Medals or Honor because of racial attitudes. Their awards were upgraded years later..
