We celebrated Pi Day in my Math class today. I had them figure the surface areas and perimeters of certain round foods such as individual pieces of Cookie Crisp cereal (man, they are much smaller and less tasty than when I was a kid), Oreos (including the new Triple Stuffed Oreos...who knew?), and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
I'm happy that Math is at the end of the day, when I can just ship them home after loading them up with sugar. Plus it was a nice, sunny, 80-degree day today--they were able to go home and burn it off.
As I told them, I started thinking about the inherent need for plates and forks involved in actual pie, but since it was technically "pi" day, I figured we would go for just the "round foods" which would require using pi to figure the surface area and circumferences instead.
I loved those ads! They were so surreal! Reading it now, it just occurred to me that Robin was packing serious heat! And shooting to kill! Not only that but the Mummy is still on the loose! I demand a sequel!
Actually I would pay good money (not mine but someone else's) to see a Batman Vs The Mummy movie!

What are the odds The Dark Knight Rises will include the line "Even my special mummy ray gun won't stop him!"?
I will pay Doctor Hmmm? $100 if that happens.

All of that snacking and no Pie?
Good work in any case, Jeff.

They were fine with it. :)

Dude, what about Moon Pies!?!
"The mummy has captured the professor and his beautiful daughter!"
So, if the daughter had been homely, or even just plain-looking, Batman wouldn't've been as concerned?
