In chronological order by cover date, these are covers that I know of that I consider to be clear enough homages.  Thanks to the Grand Comics Database for the images themselves.

There are probably others floating around. I have seen proposals that Uncanny X-Men #151 (1981), Justice League Europe #31 (1991), Wolverine #65 (1993), "Freak Force #13) ("Exit Dart!" variant) (1993), Uncanny X-Men 318 (1994), X-Men #57 (1996), X-Force #70 (1997), Superman Adventures #26 (1998), Fantastic Four #22 (1999), Gen 13 #52 (2000), PowerPuff Girls #18 and #53 (2001 and 2004 respectively), Battle of the Planets: Princess #3 (2005), X-Factor #28 (2008), GeNext #1 (2008), Uncanny X-Men #519 (2010), Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight #35 (variant cover byh George "Georges" Jeanty) (2010), Uncanny X-Men Vol 3 27 (2014), Star-Lord Vol 2 #1 (2017), Ocho #28 (2017) and Storm Vol 4 #4 (2023) could be homages as well, and the degree to which I agree varies considerably according to the specific case.

Please all feel free to chime in.

  • Good job, Luis! I can't think of any others. (I'd even count many of the ones you considered but did not include.)

    • Thanks, Jeff.

I may well include some on my own later, but odds are that there are some that I am not aware of.  And it is always good to learn from others.

  • A second batch. I'm still not very convinced by Wolverine #65, but I am biased against the character. Strong telltale signs include the presence of the duffel bag and the pink or pinkish background.  Besides, of  course, the "Exit (name)" sign.

Evil Ernie #5 (April 2022).  Interestingly, this one seems to be an indirect reference by way of New Mutants #99 (seen in the first post of this thread), given the "after Liefeld" attribution next to Marat's signature.
