DC is selling several Batman collections for $2.99 each today only (it's Batman Day). These are seriously cheap. I've already read Year One and the other classics, but there are several recent collections that tempt me. Quickly, Bat fans! There's no time! What do you think of these:

Batman: The Complete Hush

Batman: The Black Mirror

Batman: Batman and Son (Deluxe Edition)

  • If I didn't already own all of those, I would have bought them. Heck, if I would have thought about it more, I would have bought them just to own them digitally. I did buy Matt Wagner's Trinity miniseries (which is his only DC work to date that I didn't own--I had only read it through my library), Brian K. Vaughan's Matches Malone Batman three-parter, and Detective Comics #708-710, which is a Chuck Dixon/Graham Nolan/Bill Sienkiewicz story featuring Deathstroke that I remember very fondly from simpler days of my young adult life.

Nine awesome issues for nine bucks? Worth every last penny.

  • I did buy Hush and The Black Mirror. I decided to skip Batman and Son, for two reasons. First, nothing I've heard about Damien makes me think I'd be interested in the character; second, the sample pages open with the Joker, who I am thoroughly sick of.
