  • ...Okay , I'm giving up on this link .

Jan Berenstain , co-creator with her late husband Stan (who passed on earlier in this century) of the preachy Berenstain Bears , whom I suppose might've had a comic book or two issued in an earlier era , has died .

This obit barely mentioned the large amount of general-to-adult cartoon material the Berenstans also produced - at times LITERALLY! adult - LBJ-era mild naughtiness like " Bedside Lover Boy " - before deciding to concentrate , no doubt to a great profit , on the BBs .

  • Iused to read "It's All In The Family".:-(Dude.

  • Very sad news. There was a book of theirs that I read over and over--every night before going to sleep--for awhile when I was a kid. I'll bet I knew it by heart!

  • ...Do you recall which Berenstains book it was , Jeff ??? Was it an earlier book , not the later , PBS-series fodder , " preachy " BBs ???

  • It was "The Berenstain Bears Go to School". I'll never forget the opening line mentioning "a nip in the air" that told Brother Bear that it was almost time to return to school. It was Sister Bear's first day of school.
