  • Whiplash? Really? Gah, I like the character and all, but he's a loser villain not one that's really a BBEG -- more of a mook than anything.

And really, I do like the character (or at least a version of him), which I mention here, in a post toward the bottom of the page.
  • So, apparently, Mickey's contract stipulates that he will never have to change his hairstyle for a role again? :)
  • Whiplash is Ivan Vanko in the movie? Why not go with the Crimson Dynamo and simply give him lashes as a major weapon?

Of course that would be another armored villain right after the Iron Monger in the first movie, but then why go with a technology based badguy at all? Why no go with the Mandarin?

I'm not complaining, but these are questions that pop immediately into my mind. Hopefully, the movie answers them sufficiently.
  • I imagine they (the movie people) are concerned that you can't mix a "tech" movie with a "magic" movie and make it believable. I can kinda see their point, but geez, you could make the Mandarin a tech villian. Just have his rings control satellites that rain fire, broadcast holograms and that kinda jazz. Not too hard, guys!
Maybe they're concerned about making a villain who is Chinese, since that's a major market now.
  • I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they're building toward the Mandarin or something like that. It all comes back to the Ten Rings terrorist group, is what I hear...
