I want to discuss the degree to which we see standard comic books - and other formats for comic book material - distributed to non-comics shop , or " newsstand , accounts - Um , stores . Retail outlets .

  Also , I want to discuss " magazine-sized " comics .

During the Seventies , Warren , the Marvel Magazines , Skywald , and those Myron Fass things , HORROR FROM THE TOON and so forth , were magizine-style comics - magicomics - of , roughly desending , degrees of prestige , which al managed fairly long runs .

To-day , some kid-oriented magizines that feature at least some comic book-style content can be found , mostly on newsstands I believe - as well as older-oriented stuff in some sort of magazine format .

To-day , I bought , at a Walgreen's near me , this magazine-sized " Green Lantern Spectacular " from DC , which turned out to be a , more or less 100% comics content :-) , sampler of modern-day GL material , I suppose all reprints?? Perhaps with some editing?? My LCS had it also...

I also bought what appeared to be a " Pictures and promo stuff " magazine for Pixar's CARS II mvie...which , however , turned out to have a full-fleged comic-book story adaptation of the " Cars II " film .
