Story Another great one gone.
When I was a kid, I saw the TV show before I saw the Marvel comic, so that when I finally did see the comic, I was confused.

I recently got The Avengers: The Diana Rigg Complete Collection DVD set. A very good series.
I also remember him on Battlestar Galactica for a couple of episodes.
From what I've read about him, he seemed an interesting fellow. Did he ever write an autobiography?
Here are a couple of Avengers-themed ads from the 70s Macnee appeared in:

The Four Color Shadows blog has commemorated Mr Macnee by running an Avengers comic story from 1967 here. I'm a bit worried about copyright but I suppose no harm done if it's not likely to be reprinted. Here's an item from Lew Stringer's blog on an Avengers strip with a some excellent likenesses of Macnee that ran in a comic called Diana. According to a later post (here) this is being collected. The Bear Alley blog has run strips from a 1977 The New Avengers Annual, drawn by John Bolton, here and here.
