Peanuts and Garfield and Pearls Before Swine

I saw thse " graphic novels " of both PEANUTS and GARFIELD at my LCS , the " name " 'Nuts being HCs the more " utilitarian " orange tabby confined to TPB format .

These Peanuts " graphic novels " are actually featurizations , so to speak , and colorizations , of old strip sequences , and Stephen Pastis is involved with them...Pastis of PEARLS BEFORE SWINE , which is what I was referring to , not the " re-runs of Keeping Up Appearances and As Time Goes By paid for by viewers like you " elitist snobs network ! :-)

PBS is probably my favorite contemporary newspaper strip , and the one I most tend to " look for " every day .

I met Pastis at this program about Charles Schulz at Wondercon several years back ( Wondercon is moving to Aniheim , in SoCal , BTW...apparently the fact that many of its guest lived in the area and so went to the convention and did not stay in the hotels at least contributed to this . WAS IT MY FAULT ???!!???!!! <sniff> Am I channeling Pig there ? )

Considering PBS's " snarkiness " , Pastis was nice then .

...Okay , I thought ( Additionally , having thought , " Really , I should not put this link up to the generic PBS page at GoComics , as , now , there's less than two hours left that the Sunday comic will be " today's " by Memphis/Central time , why don't I just wait a bit and put up a link to the specific day when it's no longer today's , I think that's happened to me with GC before "...However , I'm all , as Lorenz Hart put it , " strike while the hour is hot " ! Carpe deim . Just do it . To-day , while the roses still cling to the vine...........) , at least when the link clung , as above...Oh , and I thought that I'd protect myself from accusations of being " Too egotistical!!! " by adding onto the link discussing PBS - And specifically its Sunday " Building up to a degraded , Godless , and utterly wonderful pun " ones ????- that another CC-ster put up , however , it didn't show up on my first Search page of results , so...........

Well . Anyway .

I liked to-day's PBS , so.........

...There are two different feeds of the daily CLASSIC PEANUTS ( Or , is it PEANUTS CLASSICS ? At least , newspaper comics pages don't organize themselves like comics shops !!!!!!! ) , a " mainstream " feed that is in the 60s now , I believe...and a " drawing from later years " one , which may not even be represented on the Net , which now reprints strips from 1998 , IIRC , onky one year ( or so ) before the end...

...Yesterday , I saw a large promo poster for a new PEANUTS comic book :-)!!!!!!!!!!!

'Tis from Boom! , IIRC , and , from the language used , I suppose it will be mostly the " featurized " versions of old strip stories that the " graphic novels " are plus IhopeIhopeIhope reprints of the primarily non-Schulz comic-book material that Dell and Gold Key published and the poster promised " A NEW STORY " !!!!!!!??!! By Pastis ???!!????

I don't see Previews or even read the previews here , generally , maybe this is old news to youse...:-)

I'm even glad to see someone still putting out a traditional 32-page format funnybook !!!!!!!!!
