I'd like to ask about (SPOILERS) some 00s issues of the Superman titles which I had , but had no more .

Book reprints ? SIssues they linked into ? Etcetera . IIRC for all:

ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #612 had the contemporary Superman nmeeting the very early Golden Age Superman , the hard-hitting , more interested in his idea of justice than exactly dotting all the Is and crossing the Ts of the system's idea of the correct method !

The unstated concept was that Clark Kent's elderly freind and mentor caused this Superman to jump out of the past - the pre-Crisis world that he had lived through , even though he didn't consiously remember it anymore - when he wrote a memoir/book . His destruction of the book at the end of this story made the Oats Age ( A term I just came up with !!!!!!!!! ) Supeman go away .

I've always felt that bthe relatively minimally powered , social activist , Superman of the 1938-39 stories of so is another Superman entirely , not only differing from Kal-El but even from the " Golden Age Superman " Kal-L...I see Kal-L's adventuures as starting , on , I don't have time to re-look this up now , but about the time of Pearl Harbor , more or less .

AOS #606 had one part of the " Return To Krypton " story...Is this the one that ends with us seeing an alternate/pocket universe where the Jor-El and Lara Superman visits have a child-aged Kal-El - possibly parentless ?

I recall a 90s?? one-issue story revolving around the Royal Flush Gang in Metropolis - not THE Royal Flush Gang , but A Royal Flush Gang , disaffected teenagers who , using stolen/second-rate/archaic technology , become a small-time super-villain gang , one of many who do so across the DCU , just like the Nortenos and Surenos and Crips and Bloods spread there way across poor areas in out world .

I never saw this idea revisted and I always thought that it was a good one .

  • ...I didn't realize that this would go into MSA's forum and I'm sorry it did .

I guess I thought a click upon the " Add " button would put it up just generally .

  • Since no one's replied, and since it was your thread, you could restart the thread in another forum, using the same text, and then delete this one. The delete option is on the "options" menu (on the upper right of the threadstarting post).

  • ...The concept of the " franchised " Royal Flush Gang did reappear , in Las Vegas , in a few-months old ZATANNA I bought from the 3/$1.00 ( big city prices ) bin:-)...
