The news was announced on Facebook by his friend Matt Cossin.
He started out at Eclipse after time in the Air Force, and also worked for Marvel and DC. I best remember his graphic novel Lex Luthor: The Unauthorized Biography, which had art by Eduardo Barretto and colors by Adam Kubert.

I was very sorry to hear this. Also surprised, in that he was as old as I am. I thought he was much younger.
