I just got an Android phone (an HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T). There's a Comixology app plus lots of free comics to download, so I had to try it out. I came into it with serious doubts about reading comics on a 4.3 inch screen, but it actually works surprisingly well. After playing around with several titles, I read the first issue of Y: The Last Man all the way through (this is the only free Vertigo title I found). The app moves you through the comic more or less panel by panel, shifting between small images and blow ups when needed to read the dialog. It's certainly a different experience than looking at a comic page, but I got comfortable with it after awhile. The hardest thing for me was letting the animation process lead me through. And I never could decide if it made any difference viewing portrait or landscape. I know we've got some tablet comic readers on the board (iPad mainly, if not entirely). Has anyone else tried it on a phone?

  • I've read some on my iPod Touch. I wouldn't do a series of comics in one sitting, but it's ok for reading one here and another there.
