Another one that I bought on a whim. I've read none of the various "Rainbow Lantern Corps" stories, so I was coming to this relatively new - I had heard of Atrocitus and Dex-Starr, LOLcat of Doom, but that was about it. (On a somewhat unrelated note, my local has Dexter action figures for sale. they're kind of crappy-looking, though.)
Anyhow, this was a fairly competently-told story, but it wasn't really enough to draw me back for issue #2. It's mostly exposition for Atrocitus's past, and what appears to be the set-up of an Earth-based storyline. The rest of the Red Lanterns aren't developed much, yet. If you were a big Red Lantern fan, it's quite possible that you would enjoy this.
The artwork is real good, though.

I love the Green Lantern books and I was one of the few excited to hear about a Red Lanterns book. However this issue was just ok. I may give it one more shot to see where it goes. I like Atroticus. I think he can carry this book. I like that Miligan gives him a range of emotions beyond rage. However, at times he seems to mopey. Also I don't like that Atroticus is worrying if his troops will follow or rebel against him. Honestly the guy should have nothing to worry about. I think he would take them all on if they decide to disobey. Sure they outnumber him but their a mindless mob of rage. He's not mindless at all. I'm sure Dextarr will back him up though.
The art was good though.
