Story A lot of folks may remember her for her role as Gladys Ormphby on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, but ssince I was a touch young for that show, I first encountered her on the Saturday morning kids' show, The Lost Saucer. It was only later that I saw some of her other stuff, and saw how funny she could be.

Aww. I loved Ruth Buzzi. Yes, my first encounter with her was Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In as the conservative lady with the hairnet who'd bash people with her purse. Did that character have a name? (She pre-dated Dana Carvey's Church Lady by a couple of decades.)
Gladys Ormphby.
Her most common target was the dirty old man, Tyrone F. Horneigh.
(I looked them up in my Funk and Wagnalls).
Gladys Ormphby.
As I noted in the OP.
