Hello comic book fans,

It's the end of the year.  Time for Christmas presents, holiday parties, New Year's resolutions and, of course, the annual Cappie awards.

Here are the rules:

Anyone may nominate.  Even if you've been a lurker until now, you may post nominations as soon as you're a member of the board.

You may nominate up to 2 entries for each category.  You are not required to nominate an entry for every category, only the ones you want.  (In other words, you may nominate 0, 1 or 2 entries per category)

Here are some clarifications:

The awards are for the 2012 calendar year.  However, we're flexible.  We know that cover dates don't always match publication dates.  And story arcs or mini-series that cross a year's end are eligible in either year.  Just, be reasonable, please.

The biggest surprise award is for things that happen in the stories, not in the industry.  We're talking "Darth Vader is Luke's father!" not "Disney bought Star Wars!"  Inevitably, the biggest surprise and RIP awards will reveal spoilers for trade paperback readers.  Sorry in advance, but it can't be helped.

Finally, here are the categories:
