The WIBCI

Gentlefolk,

Lo, it has come to my attention that our august group have not coined an acronym or saying in quite some time.  Therefore, in one of my more lucid moments as I was thinking over some very pertinent psuedo-scientific issues of the day regarding Captain America's shield, I have come up with a new abbreviation that I believe could become very useful in future discussion, to wit, the WIBCI.

WIBCI stands very simply for "Wouldn't It Be Cool If..." and may be used to describe moments in comics panels where a hero or villain does something fun and awesome...but also diametrically opposed to everything we know about said character.

As an example: there was once a comic featuring the aforementioned Captain America where he jumped off of a rooftop then used his vibranium-laced shield to absorb the energy of his fall.  All well and wonderful, but completely implausible given that if the shield is capable of such a feat that it would completely violate the laws of physics for said shield to ever deflect off of a hard surface or for projectiles to ricochet sharply away.  Therefore, while the scene looks great, it's essentially a Mopee wrapped inside an EKYIW.  In other words, it does not compute.

I poll you brothers, and ask you to put your minds to other such scientific conundrums within our particular interest.  Canyou name additional WIBCI's over time?  Will the Joker carry off his nefarious scheme?  Betty or Veronica?
