I was going to post a thread specific to a trip I'm leaving for tomorrow. Instead I thought it might be good to post an all encompassing thread so we can discuss any travel questions we might have.

I'm leaving for Houston, Texas tomorrow. I will be there for the weekend then flying out to Denver and staying there till Thursday.

I'm seeing a friend in Houston who moved there a few months ago. He's got plenty of stuff lined up for us to do/see.

My question is for Denver. Who's been? I've been to Colorado a few times but never spent much time in Denver. I'm staying with an Aunt and Uncle who live outside of the city. I bought a guide book and picked a few places to see. My aunt and unlce are nice but not particularly proactive, so they haven't given me any suggestions yet of places I should see. So far I'm planning to visit:

Mile High Comics

a brewery. There's a ton in the Denver area, apparently it's the Nappa Valley of Beer. Haven't picked which one yet.

U.S. Mint

Unfortunately Mile High Stadium isn't open for tours while I'm there.

So what should I see? Any good places to eat? Of course I've done some research but I'd like to hear it from people who have actually been.

I also didn't realize the Presidential debate will be in Denver while I'm there. That should be interesting. Might even see the President.

  • I haven't been there in many, many years, but I did go once when I was 15.  I don't have any tips on any places to eat or nightlife, but be aware that the altitude can have an effect.  Don't be surprised if you're finding breathing a little more difficult or if you're thirstier than usual.
