  • I saw that the old artist came back after poor Barretto passed away.

I only get the fortnightly-ish comic when they print the recent sindicated strips, and it takes ages for them to build up enough to print one.  I will probably read the new artist in about 4-6 months, and check him out.

But I don't know Terry Beatty as an artist, I'm afriad, if he is a name artist.

    • ...Yes , you had said that you.re Murdoch-owned newspaper-averse sufficiently , all?? Antipodean Walker-carriers being News Inc. , that the Frrew comic was the only reasonable paper option for you...(You know , I think a paralell could be drawn here to what some Americans thought of William Randolph Hearst during the mid-Twentieth...as I sit posting this much less than a block sala way from the Hearst Bulding , where both WRH's San Fran newspaper and my LCS when I lived here used to be...During seperate times !
I haven.t quite been keeping up with the contempo Phantom strip myself , even tho bofh the Captain.s Commercial Appeal site and the (Hearst Corporation) San Francisco Chronicle/SF Gate sites offer it for free IIRC...I fell out of interest/touch with that IDW?? The Last Phantom thing...Terrh Beatty is perhaps best known for drawing 80s-era indie MS. TREE and working on what I recall as a pretty excellent run of BATMAN GOTHAM ADVENFURE
