  • DC ANNOUNCES BIZARRO: YEAR NONE

DC Launches a New Four-Issue Limited Series from Kevin Smith, Eric Carrasco, and Nick Pitarra, Starring the Iconic Backwards Opposite of Superman

31063045491?profile=RESIZE_400xBizarro: Year None #1 main cover by Nick Pitarra

In truly terrible news for fans everywhere—which is to say, incredible—DC today announced Bizarro: Year None, a four-issue limited comic book series exploring the origin of Bizarro, Superman’s legendary backwards doppelgänger. From writers Kevin Smith (Green Arrow) and Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), with art and main cover by Nick Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects), Bizarro: Year None delivers the “definitive, indefinitive” origin of DC’s beloved backward bad boy.

“Me am NOT excited for new comic!” said Bizarro. “Bizarro: Year None am worst thing to happen!”

The series follows Superman’s pal Jimmy Olsen and Clark Kent’s boss Perry White as they depart the Daily Planet for a strange adventure in outer space. Their journey leads them to a dimension that mirrors Metropolis in uncanny ways and reveres its legendary newspaper as an article of faith. As they unravel the mystery of this bizarre world, they confront the being behind it all. Is he a misguided Superman fan, an agent of pure chaos, or is he no one at all?

Smith and Carrasco bring a blend of humor, heart, and high-concept storytelling to a character whose contradictions have made him a fan-favorite for decades. Pitarra’s bold, hyper-detailed artwork grounds the series’ surreal tone, giving readers a version of Bizarro’s world that feels both familiar and unsettling.

Bizarro: Year None #1 variant covers by Frank Quitely (L) and Ibrahim Moustafa (R)

Bizarro: Year None #1 goes on sale April 1, 2026, and the series publishes monthly through July, available at participating comic book shops and digital retailers. The debut issue arrives as a 32-page comic priced at $4.99 US, with variant covers by Frank Quitely, Fernando Pasarin, and Ibrahim Moustafa, plus a foil variant by Pitarra. Variant covers will be available for $5.99 US (card stock) and $7.99 US (foil).

Don’t be a square: this is the worst comic you’ll ever love. Kevin Smith, Eric Carrasco, and Nick Pitarra tell the indefinitive origin of Superman’s bestest enemy ever!

GHOST MACHINE GIVES THE GOODS ON ALL FOUR OF ITS UNIVERSES WITH THE APRIL LAUNCH OF GHOST MACHINE: THE OFFICIAL GUIDEBOOK

31063045899?profile=RESIZE_710xPORTLAND, Ore. 01/15/2026 — How hot does Geiger burn? What new Wardens will face Rook in upcoming tales? What are The Unbelievables? What secrets is the Scorekeeper hiding on Hyde Street? Ghost Machine will answer those questions—and many more—with the release of the five-issue Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook miniseries featuring text and art by Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, Gary Frank, Bryan Hitch, Ivan Reis, Peter J. Tomasi, Brad Anderson, and more, and published by Image Comics this April.

Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook spotlights more than 120 characters, teasing future storylines and major events across Ghost Machine’s four interconnected universes, including those of THE UNNAMED and the heroes and villains spanning the American timeline found in Geiger, Redcoat, and First Ghost; as well as in: Rook: Exodus and its sweeping science-fiction epic; Hyde Street and its horrific home to the terrifying Residents of a mysterious, nightmarish dimension. And in THE UNBELIEVABLES, where extraordinary figures hide in plain sight, including The Rocketfellers, Hornsby & Halo, the upcoming The Trillion Dollar Kid, and many more soon making their debut.

“I was always a huge fan of these entertaining encyclopedic comics,” said Brian Cunningham, Ghost Machine Editor-in-Chief. “Whenever I wanted to know something about a character, I knew where to go. I also loved learning about characters I had never seen before, and then wanting to track down those comics with them so I could read those stories. I’m hoping fans will do the same with our Guidebook.”

Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook #1-2 will focus on The Unnamed Universe, featuring Geiger, Redcoat, Junkyard Joe, and more. Issue #3 features the unbelievable universe of The Rocketfellers, Hornsby & Halo, and a host of new characters appearing for the very first time. Issue #4 spotlights the heroes and villains of the sci-fi universe epic Rook: Exodus, while #5 pays a visit with the various Residents of Ghost Machine’s dimension of horror—Hyde Street.

Perfect for fans of Who’s Who in the DC Universe and The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook gives you everything you need to know about your favorite characters, while also paying tribute to classic character profile collections of the past.

Each issue of the Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook features three distinct covers: Cover A Gary Frank and Brad Anderson which will showcase a timeless rendition of each issue’s character lineup, Cover B by Bryan Hitch and Brad Anderson which will be an homage to The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, Cover C by Ivan Reis, Danny Miki, and Brad Anderson which pays homage to Who’s Who in the DC Universe.

Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook #1 will be available at local comic book shops on Wednesday, April 1.

SPIDER-HEROES UNITE TO TRAIN FOR THE NEXT GREAT THREAT IN THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY!

Spinning out of the current run of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY, a five-issue limited series by Jordan Morris, Joe Kelly, and Pere Perez, launches in April.

31063163054?profile=RESIZE_400xNew York, NY— January 15, 2026 — All your favorite webheads will band together in a brand-new way this April in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY! Announced earlier today at IGN, the five-issue limited series will be written by Jordan Morris (Predator: Bloodshed) and Joe Kelly (Amazing Spider-Man) and drawn by artist Pere Perez (Amazing Spider-Man: Torn).

Spinning directly out of Kelly’s hit run of Amazing Spider-Man, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY sees Norman Osborn take various Spider-heroes under his wing to train them against a deadly incoming threat—himself! Following up on Norman’s heroic turn as Spider-Man—as well as his looming descent back to madness—and bringing the entire Spider-family together as a united front, the series is an essential chapter in the lead-up to AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1000, the mega milestone issue coming later this year.

    LEARNING TO CRAWL!

Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Silk, Araña, Spider-Boy and Spider-Girl have one thing in common – THEY AREN’T READY. According to former Resolute Spider-Man Norman Osborn. So he and Spider-Woman are going to train them to meet the next threat – the only way the Green Goblin knows how. Because the next threat might well BE the Green Goblin!

On how the Spider-heroes react to their new mentor, Morris told IGN, "The younger Spiders all have their own take. Some of them are stoked, some are more wary (specifically the ones Norman has killed before). To a certain extent, they’re all students of Pete. Even the ones who haven’t trained with him specifically see him as a role-model. Since Pete has forgiven Norman, the other Spiders are willing to give him a chance. Even though certain members of the team are more prickly, they all share the try-and-see-the-best-in-people ethos that is so important to Pete."

"Spider-Versity spins directly out of the events of Amazing Spider-Man,” Kelly added. “Norman has a definitive threat in mind that he's trying to protect the young Spiders against. One he knows intimately. But even for a master planner like Norman, things may perhaps go awry, and the kids will face some unexpected threats. Nothing like learning on the job!"

Check out Giuseppe Camuncoli’s main cover and preorder THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY at your local comic shop today! For more information, visit Marvel.com.

THE CONJURING'S MICHAEL CHAVES & MATTHEW ROBERTS DEBUT CORPSE KNIGHT IN 2026

An All-New Dark Fantasy Epic Arrives in April

31062059074?profile=RESIZE_400xLOS ANGELES 01/14/2026 — Today Skybound and Image Comics announced the new limited series, Corpse Knight by acclaimed writer/co-creator Michael Chaves (The Conjuring franchise), artist/co-creator Matthew Roberts (Universal Monsters: Creature from The Black Lagoon Lives!) and Rico Renzi (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse). Corpse Knight is a haunting new horror series where family is family, whether they’re alive or undead. The debut issue of this intense horror fantasy series arrives in comic book shops on April 22, 2026.

"Corpse Knight was born out of my love of dark fantasy, but it quickly became something more. It’s a story of parenthood and mortality, told through heroes, monsters, and all the shades in between,” said Michael Chaves. “I’ve been a fan of Matthew Roberts since Manifest Destiny, and I truly believe this is some of his finest work. His art is beautiful, tactile, and, when it needs to be, amazingly gruesome. Alongside Rico Renzi’s awesome color work, it’s everything you want from this kind of book.”

“I was certain my next project would be anything but horror, but I’m having the best time drawing Corpse Knight, despite myself,” added Matthew Roberts. “Corpse Knight is a blast. Michael’s script has allowed me to play in a way I’ve not in the past, taking big swings but always feeling grounded by the family bond at the center. That bond is where I find the light, and it makes all the gruesome stuff even more fun to play with. Having Rico on board is the icing on the cake. I can’t imagine anyone else making the choices he makes with colors. I can’t wait for everyone to see what this team is putting together.”

"I love Micheal's story and Matthew's art has struck the perfect balance between beautiful and disgusting,” said Rico Renzi. “Coloring this book is a delight!"

War ravages France, but a young girl named Foy lives in relative peace with her father... until tragedy strikes. As Foy struggles to fend for herself, she’s granted a miracle—her father returns from the dead to protect her.

Now, they embark on a sacred quest, confronting murderers, wild animals, wandering armies, and black magic plaguing the countryside. As Foy comes face to face with the dark side of miracles and the secrets of the Corpse Knight, she must question if the man by her side has always been a monster...

"Horror masters Michael Chaves and Matthew Roberts have delivered a beautifully tragic story about the lengths a parent will go to protect their child,” said Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound. “Absolutely nothing will stop the Corpse Knight...even death itself! Fans of King Spawn and The Darkness will eat this right up.”

Corpse Knight #1 will feature a main cover by series artists Matthew Roberts and Rico Renzi, with a variant cover program featuring superstar horror artists including an open to order cover by Jae Lee (ThunderCats), a 1:10 incentive variant by Tonči Zonjić (Lobster Johnson), a 1:25 incentive variant by Nimit Malavia (The New Gods), a 1:50 incentive by Andrea Milana (Cobra Commander), a 1:100 Foil incentive variant by Stephanie Hans (DIE), a die-cut helmet cover by Matthew Roberts and Andres Juarez, and a blank sketch cover to round out the lineup.

Corpse Knight #1 (Lunar Codes Coming Soon | SRP $3.99, unless otherwise noted) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

  • MARVEL’S WEB-SLINGING WALL-CRAWLER JOINS FORCES WITH DC’S MAN OF TOMORROW IN NEW SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN CROSSOVER COMIC!

SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN, an all-new Marvel/DC crossover one-shot featuring stories by Brad Meltzer, Pepe Larraz, Brian Michael Bendis, Geoff Johns, Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, and more superstar talent, arrives in April.

New York, NY— January 14, 2026 — Following the massive success of last year’s Deadpool/Batman and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, the first-ever Marvel/DC crossover, Marvel Comics and DC Comics unite again this April in Marvel’s SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1! Like last year’s crossover, fans can look forward to a double-dose of history-making comic book storytelling with DC publishing a separate one-shot, Superman/Spider-Man, in March.

The lead story where Spider-Man and Superman join forces will be written by New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer in his first full-length Marvel Comics story, and drawn by one of Marvel’s most acclaimed artists, Pepe Larraz. In addition, the one-shot will feature various bonus stories by a monumental lineup of industry talent, each co-starring Marvel and DC characters, including a few surprises readers will be talking about for the next fifty years!

    Here’s what to expect:

    • THWIP, THWIP AND AWAY! Brad Meltzer and Pepe Larraz pit SPIDER-MAN and SUPERMAN against LEX LUTHOR and NORMAN OSBORN as their greatest villains exploit some of their greatest weaknesses!
    • In the shadow-laden 1930s, SPIDER-MAN NOIR encounters the original GOLDEN AGE SUPERMAN as told by Dan Slott and Marcos Martin!
    • Industry powerhouse Geoff Johns delivers his first Marvel story in over 20 years, teaming up with frequent collaborator and fellow superstar Gary Frank! A crisis ensues as the hit creative team bring the Super- and Spider-families against each together at the summons of MYSTERIO…but is their true foe an ally out of control?!
    • SYMBIOTE hordes invade Metropolis as a new War of the Realms ignites in Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman’s epic reunion starring Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor, Wonder Woman and more!
    • Co-creator of STEEL Louise Simonson and artist Todd Nauck hammer out the tale of John Henry Irons’ clash with the HOBGOBLIN.
    • Current Amazing Spider-Man scribe Joe Kelly and artist Humberto Ramos deliver a campus crossover between GWEN STACY and LANA LANG!
    • SPIDER-MAN (MILES MORALES) teams up with SUPERMAN in a tale by Miles’ legendary co-creators, Brian Michael Bendis, who recently made his grand return to Marvel, and Sara Pichelli!
    • And more!

“I’ve been waiting fifty years to write this book,” Meltzer shared. “Superman and Spider-Man have affected me more than most real people. I carry them with me everywhere — and our story cuts to the core of what it means to be a good person. I’m honored that Nick Lowe and everyone at Marvel even asked. Just wait until you see Pepe’s work. Get your capes and web-shooters ready…”

"Everyone here at Marvel is excited to be re-teaming with our friends at DC for another colossal crossover, this time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our two icons, Spider-Man and Superman, first teaming up!” Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski added. “I can't wait for fans of every generation to read these spectacular stories that our titanic talent are telling, featuring all-new, easily accessible stories about the ever-growing Spider-Man and Superman families meeting for the first time."

SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN will include a main cover by Pepe Larraz and an assortment of stunning variant covers by top artists, some of which reflect the one-shot’s bonus stories. Today, fans can check out variant covers by Sara Pichelli, Walter Simonson, Greg Capullo, Marcos Martin, Ryan Stegman, Peach Momoko, Erik Larsen, Jerome Opeña, and Russell Dauterman along with a wraparound cover by Kaare Andrews and a Foil Cover by Mark Bagley. THE ULTIMATE GOODBYE…

Following the events of ULTIMATE ENDGAME #5, the creative teams of all the Ultimate books come together one last time to say farewell…

DOOM VS. ULTRON IN DOOM 2099: RAGE OF DOOM!

This April, Frank Tieri continues his DOOM 2099 saga, teaming up with artist Von Randal in DOOM 2099: RAGE OF DOOM #1.

New York, NY— January 12, 2026 — This April, Doctor Doom of 2099 strikes back!

31062117659?profile=RESIZE_400xFollowing his return in last year’s Doomed 2099 one-shot, Doom 2099’s next chapter, DOOM 2099: RAGE OF DOOM #1, arrives in April. The one-shot will be written by acclaimed writer Frank Tieri, returning to continue the epic saga he set in motion in Doomed 2099, this time alongside rising star artist Von Randal (All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider). The infamous future version of Doctor Doom, who experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to his role in Marvel Rivals, embarked on a startling journey to the present in Doomed 2099—only to return to his future humbled by his past self! Having lost everything, his only hope to reverse his cruel fate and reconquer his destiny lies in the megalomaniacal machine known as ULTRON!

    ULTRON VS. DOOM!

Doctor Doom’s spell didn’t just annihilate his enemies – it wiped out all life on Earth, leaving even him to regret the cost. In the desolate future of DOOMED 2099, Doom discovers Ultron’s buried head and risks everything to repair his time machine. But awakening a dangerously powerful machine intelligence invites new rebellion, and the path to redemption may demand a price even Doom never anticipated.

“Behold the battle of two of comics’ all-time greatest villains!” Tieri teased. “After the shock ending to the last one shot—that Doom 2099 was responsible for wiping out his timeline and all life on Earth—fans of that book were clamoring to find out how things got that way. Well, they need wonder no more because we reveal it here in DOOM 2099: RAGE OF DOOM #1... And we've brought none other than Mr. AI terror himself, Ultron, along for the human life-ending ride! (Technically he doesn't count as life on Earth, ya know...)

“When we rejoin Doom in our story, he's a broken man who desperately wants to amend what he's done—the only problem is he needs his time machine fixed in order to do it.” Tieri continued. “Enter Ultron... but will the one-time emperor of the world get what he wants out of Hank Pym's creation? Or will Ultron add him to the list of the nonliving?”

“If there’s one person who can beat Doom, it’s Frank Tieri,” Editor Mark Paniccia added. “He really knows how to torture poor Victor! I almost feel bad for him. And in the first one-shot, we debuted the spectacular talents of illustrators Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizar. This time we spotlight another great new artist, Von Randal.”

Check out Junggeun Yoon’s striking main cover along with variant covers by best-selling artists Derrick Chew and Peach Momoko, the latter of which will also be available as a virgin variant cover. Preorder DOOM 2099: RAGE OF DOOM #1 at your local comic shop today!

  • CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST REVEALS A SECRET FROM CAROL DANVERS' DAYS AS MS. MARVEL!

This April, Carol Danvers must recover a lost memory from her time as Ms. Marvel in CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST, a five-issue comic book limited series by Paul Jenkins and Lucas Werneck.

New York, NY— December 22, 2025 — This April, the past catches up to Carol Danvers in CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST!

31043727089?profile=RESIZE_400x31043727260?profile=RESIZE_400xA five-issue comic book limited series, CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST will be written by superstar writer Paul Jenkins, following his grand return to Marvel this March with the recently announced The Sentry series. Joining Jenkins will be one of today’s most acclaimed artists, Marvel’s Stormbreaker Lucas Werneck, known for recent work on Storm and Unbreakable X-Men. An illuminating journey through Carol’s past and present, the saga kicks off when a dark family secret is exposed, forcing Carol to revisit her time as Ms. Marvel. But some memories are better left forgotten, especially when they have the power to threaten the legacy Carol worked so hard to build…

    HIGHER. FURTHER. FORGOTTEN.

As a cosmic level being, Captain Marvel has saved universes, thwarted alien invasions and even defeated a god or two. But when an attack on New York—bolstered by a mysterious group called DNVR—exposes a dark part of Carol’s family history, she’s forced to question everything she thought she knew about the Danvers name! Carol suspects that answers lie in an investigation she was forced to drop when she was a journalist, and as lost memories from her past as Ms. Marvel resurface, she’s faced with her toughest battle yet.

On his return to Marvel Comics and taking on Captain Marvel, Jenkins said, “True Believers, I’m thrilled to be doing not one but two books back at the House of Ideas. Captain Marvel is such a great character who has also appeared as Ms. Marvel, Warbird and even Binary. With such a rich and complex past, under the guidance of so many amazing and talented writers, there is a ton of material for me to mine. I hope to bring my brand of characterization and storytelling to this great character, to examine what makes Carol who she is, and perhaps even to bring out a new wrinkle or two.”

On drawing Carol Danvers’ latest adventure, Werneck said, “I'm very excited to be working on this project. First of all, Carol is an incredible and powerful character, with many layers and conflicts, which always presents a good challenge. Also, I'm very excited to be working with Paul Jenkins. The conversations we've had about the comics, the story, and Carol's conflicts for this project have made me very enthusiastic about everything that's to come."

THE NEW RED & BLUE SYMBIOTE SUIT MAKES A SURPRISING RETURN IN WEB OF VENOM #1!

This April, WEB OF VENOM #1, a one-shot by Jordan Morris, Ramon Rosanas, and Luke Ross, brings back the Red and Blue symbiote costume that recently appeared in Venom—but who’s wearing it this time?

New York, NY— December 22, 2025 — Paying homage to Spider-Man’s monumental black costume change in the 1980s, a new Red & Blue Venom suit has been causing mischief and confusion throughout the Marvel Universe as of late. After making its debut in Battleworld #3 with the introduction of Eddie Parker of Earth-8294, the suit reappeared earlier this month in Venom #252 where Mary Jane took the costume for a spin as the All-New Venom. The latter issue also included a backup tale by Jordan Morris and Jesús Saíz that fleshed out Eddie Parker’s origin. In April, this wild saga continues in WEB OF VENOM #1, a new one-shot by Morris, Ramon Rosanas (Star Wars: Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon) and Luke Ross (Star Wars: Legacy of Vader) where the costume will score a definitive place in the Marvel Universe as it’s adopted by a fan-favorite Spider-Man character.

    THE EVEN ALL-ER NEW-ER VENOM?!?

There is an even NEWER symbiote-wearing hero on the scene sporting the red-and-blue Spidey inspired look on the streets of Earth-616… but it’s not Mary Jane Watson, and it’s not Eddie Parker! But it IS someone that Peter Parker knows well…someone both he AND Spider-Man have had many encounters with… someone looking to use this new web-slinging identity to make their much-deserved comeback! The saga of the new Red-And-Blue alien costume takes a whole new turn, kicking a classic Spider character into a whole new direction that they have no intention of giving up!

“I had so much fun working with the symbiote office on the Eddie Parker alternate universe adventure for the historic Venom issue #252!” Morris shared. “I can't wait to tell another story that combines the Venom goos with the reds and blues, this time in the 616!”

Teasing the mystery, Morris added, “I don't want to say too much about who is in the suit this time around, but it's a deeper cut character I've always had a soft spot for (and I think many faithful Marvel readers do too). I can say it's an epic comeback (wink) that fans won't want to miss!”

Check out the main cover by Stefano Caselli along with a variant cover by Pere Perez and a variant cover spotlighting Luciano Vecchio’s original design for the costume. Preorder WEB OF VENOM #1 at your local comic shop today! For more information, visit Marvel.com.

VAULT UNVEILS NEW MIDDLE GRADE GRAPHIC NOVEL, TRAVIS MUÑOZ AND THE FIRE OF THE AZTECS

Presented by Emmy Award-winning actor and UN Women Spokesperson, Karla Souza

    For immediate release.

31043728099?profile=RESIZE_400xMissoula, MT (12/19/2025) - Vault is thrilled to unveil a first look at the incredible new middle grade graphic novel, Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs. Presented by Emmy Award-winning actor and UN Women Spokesperson, Karla Souza, Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs is about Aztec mythology, best friends, and baseball—from breakout creators Mark Stack and Anne Marcano!

Before the eclipse changed everything, Travis Muñoz's biggest problems were math class and whether he would still be able to play on the same baseball team as his best friend Yolanda. Now, Travis has to deal with his uncle Hector telling him he's been chosen as the next warrior priest for an Aztec sun god. Which means, it’s his job to make sure the sun rises every morning. And his job to battle feathered snakemen who attack at random. Travis could probably manage both, if it weren't for the fact that Yolanda seems mad at him for being chosen over her. At least it's not the end of the world…yet.

“I wrote this book for one person and one person only-- my niece,” said Stack. “She'll be eleven when the book comes out which is around the time I started thinking about a lot of the ideas that show up in it. How am I like my friends? How am I not? Why do we have this thing in common, this common heritage, but have such different experiences with it? Like our character Travis, I didn't really know how to talk about that or who to talk about that with. I felt a little cut-off from the language and the people I needed for that. Travis and Yolanda, our book's co-lead, are both Mexican American but their families and their experiences are genuinely very different. A lot of their conflict comes first from trying to pretend those differences don't exist and then believing that they're irreconcilable. I hope kids like my niece read our book and see that there's no expiration date on connecting with your heritage and embracing a larger community that can't be put into one, easily-defined box.”

“There’s a void in the world of children’s fantasy books—especially for kids like mine, who are growing up Mexican-American and hungry to see themselves in the stories they love,” said Souza. “This book fills that void with thrilling adventure, rich Mexican mythology, and characters who reflect the beauty of our culture, our names, our family dynamics, and our power. At last, a story that makes our kids feel seen, celebrated, and connected to their ancestry. I’m overjoyed to share it with the world.”

Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs will be available in stores everywhere in April, 2026.

  • ABRAMS COMICARTS AND MARVEL COMICS TO PUBLISH JOHN BYRNE’S COMPLETE X-MEN ELSEWHEN GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES

31016959699?profile=RESIZE_400xNEW YORK, NY—JULY 24, 2025—Abrams ComicArts is thrilled to announce an expansion of its Marvel Arts line of original graphic novels featuring Marvel Comics characters with X-Men Elsewhen by writer/artist John Byrne.

X-Men Elsewhen is a three-volume series celebrating both the 50-year history of Marvel’s X-Men team featuring fan-favorite creations such as Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler; and also the culmination of longtime writer/artist John Byrne’s five decades of association with these characters.

X-Men Elsewhen began nearly seven years ago and featured John Byrne’s return to the X-Men, the comic-book franchise he helped grow to new heights with his work as co-plotter and artist alongside writer Chris Claremont and inker Terry Austin. That trio’s time on the series has served as inspiration for films, animated series, and numerous comic books that followed. Among the high-water marks co-plotted and illustrated by Byrne during this initial go-round were classic storylines, “The Dark Phoenix Saga” and “Days of Future Past.”

In X-Men Elsewhen, written and penciled by Byrne, inked by Byrne and Paul Wills, colored by Lovern Kindzierski and Leonard O’Grady, and lettered by Byrne and Patrick Brosseau, the central conceit of the series involves Byrne’s return to those storylines, albeit with one major difference: the culmination of the “Dark Phoenix Saga” saw Jean Grey, the Phoenix, make the ultimate sacrifice to save the universe from her power, which had grown too great for her to contain. In Elsewhen, however, the storyline picks up from that point but explores the never-published ending where Jean Grey survived the experience, albeit in a drastically altered fashion.

That story change results in an entirely different future for the team and the surrounding Marvel Universe of characters. In X-Men Elsewhen Volume 1, the characters return to Earth and face very different experiences in the Savage Land and beyond, in an expansive storyline that also features the Sentinels, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, Spider-Man, and many other familiar faces.

“They say you can’t go home again,” said writer/artist John Byrne. “They’re wrong.”

X-Men Elsewhen is a three-volume series being released as part of Abrams ComicArts’ Marvel Arts line, which includes Alex Ross’s Fantastic Four: Full Circle; The Super Hero’s Journey by Patrick McDonnell; and The Avengers: Veracity Trip by Chip Kidd and Michael Cho. Elsewhen will contain over 600 pages of Byrne’s story in art across its three volumes. Volume one will be released in April 2026, with subsequent volumes releasing in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. All three volumes will be released as 7.5 x 11 hardcovers with dust jackets, and feature well over 200 pages of story and art per volume, along with a number of additional features.

“John Byrne has done something truly unique here,” said X-Men Elsewhen series editor Chris Ryall. “He’s created all-new X-Men adventures that not only serve as a reminder of why Byrne’s past work on these characters was beloved and influential, while at the same time presenting all-new and relevant stories that will captivate newer X-Men fans as well.”

“We’re incredibly excited to be publishing X-Men: Elsewhen with John Byrne,” said Joseph Montagne, Publisher of Abrams ComicArts. “This project is something truly rare. It offers a chance to revisit one of the most iconic runs in comics history, told by the original co-creator in his own voice. Byrne’s passion for these characters comes through on every page. We’re proud to bring this long-awaited story to readers through our Marvel Arts line and to add such a meaningful project to this collaboration between Abrams and Marvel.”

X-Men Elsewhen is the pinnacle of Byrne’s storied history of working on the beloved X-Men from Marvel. Volume 1 will be available April 2026 from Abrams ComicArts.

GHOST MACHINE PARTNERS WITH ATLAS ENTERTAINMENT FOR REDCOAT FEATURE ADAPTATION

Oscar-winning producer Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment and groundbreaking creator collective Ghost Machine are developing a Redcoat feature film based on the critically acclaimed series by Geoff Johns and Bryan Hitch

31000327289?profile=RESIZE_400xLOS ANGELES 11/14/2025 — Today Deadline announced in an exclusive scoop that Atlas Entertainment and Ghost Machine are developing a feature film adaptation of Redcoat, the critically acclaimed series written by Geoff Johns (Aquaman), illustrated by Bryan Hitch (The Ultimates), colored by Brad Anderson, and lettered by Rob Leigh.

The feature film adaptation will be written by Johns based on a story by Johns and Hitch and is being produced by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner for Atlas Entertainment.

Redcoat launched in April 2024 to an instant sellout, and the ongoing series has since established itself as a mainstay on the top seller charts for Image Comics/Ghost Machine.

“All great franchises are built on great characters and Redcoat’s Simon Pure is one of them. Funny, charismatic, and lovably roguish, he anchors the IP fantastically,” said Gartner.

Roven added: “I have known Geoff Johns for many years and in some cases had a front row seat to his excellent work in the DC world. Johns and Hitch have formed a brilliant collaboration as writer and illustrator of the Redcoat comics, which have become a top selling fan favorite. Redcoat is innovative comic material and ripe to become a tentpole.”

The story follows a British deserter after he mistakenly gains immortality during the American Revolution and is forced to face his cowardly past and fight against a sinister plot to destroy America. Reminiscent of the bombastic historical action in Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones, Redcoat pulls back the curtain of American History to tell the legend of the unknown hero who saved us all.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with one of the most accomplished producers working today," said Johns and Hitch in a joint statement. "From Oppenheimer to Wonder Woman, Chuck Roven helped bring some of the most iconic and inspirational films of our time to the screen.”

    Touched By a Demon

Collecting Milk and Cheese, The Eltingville Club, and Dork for the first time together in one volume of fun

31016960293?profile=RESIZE_400xMILWAUKIE, Ore., (September 17, 2025)—Dark Horse Comics presents Nerd Inferno: The Essential Evan Dorkin, a new omnibus collecting Evan Dorkin’s Eisner, Harvey, and Ignatz Award-winning creator-owned comics, Milk and Cheese, The Eltingville Club, and Dork. Written and illustrated by Dorkin, these satirical comics will be collected for the first time in this omnibus edition, which will also feature a brand-new cover by Dorkin and Sarah Dyer. It’s going to sell out and you will cry if you don’t get a copy, so get to it, kids (this message was approved by Evan’s therapist).

    About Milk and Cheese:

A carton of hate. A wedge of spite. A comic book of idiotic genius. A comic book of idiotic genius. Dating all the way back to an appearance in Greed magazine in 1988, these gin-fueled lactic loose cannons have delighted and horrified comics fans the world over!

    About The Eltingville Club:

Take-no-prisoners trivia-offs. Pill-fueled Twilight Zone marathons. Fan interventions. Here is the ultimate word on the fugly side of fandom, collecting every Eltingville story from Dork, House of Fun, and The Eltingville Club #1–#2.

    About Dork:

Comprising years of black humor stories about a living voodoo doll, a serial killer sitcom, truly real live sex, a disco skinhead, an urbane devil puppet, classic works of literature acted out by Fisher-Price toys, and more absurdity.

Nerd Inferno: The Essential Evan Dorkin (paperback, 656 pages, 6.625” x 10.1875”) will be available in bookstores on April 21, 2026 and in comic shops on April 22, 2026. It is now available for pre-order from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop and bookstore for $34.99.

    Praise for Evan Dorkin:

“Evan’s calcium-rich creations are guaranteed to spread lactose intolerance everywhere.”—David Mazzucchelli (Asterios Polyp, Batman: Year One)

“Milk and Cheese is the cream of the comic crop, a butter-bomb of hilarity, and one other lactose-based metaphor.” —Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille, Minor Threats)

“Dorkin is a powerful man, and this is powerful stuff—you buy this book, you’ll black out, probably wake up in prison. But don’t let that stop you.”—Bryan Lee O’Malley (Scott Pilgrim, Snotgirl)

''In the '90s, Evan Dorkin's comics, Milk and Cheese and Dork, approached humor from all sides, from riffing on pop-culture tropes to haunting explorations of Dorkin's own demons.”—Paste Magazine

"Dorkin's dense, sweaty world of Eltingville remains the spot-on love letter/guilty confession/death threat to geek fandom it was when it first appeared in the nineties."—Jackson Publick (The Venture Bros.)

    "A motherf---ing comics-making machine."—Gilbert Hernandez (Love and Rockets)
