Benjamin Percy and José Luis Soares’ PUNISHER launches in February.
Following the success of Punisher: Red Band #1, superstar writer Benjamin Percy takes his work on the iconic character to the next level in PUNISHER #1 this February. The new ongoing series will be drawn by José Luis Soares. Revealed earlier today by Marvel Comics Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski at the Lucca Comics & Games festival in Italy, the series finds Frank, still dealing with the events of the Red Band series, waging a new war against criminals including a resurfaced JIGSAW, one of Marvel’s most terrifying supervillains!

“Todd came to me with the idea of writing something about Hellboy’s brothers,” explains Mike Mignola. “It never would have occurred to me to do more with those guys but it didn’t take much prodding. Brothers writing about brothers in a somewhat complicated family dynamic—once we got going it was almost too easy. And fun. And SO MUCH fun that I could only imagine it drawn by Warwick.”
“The Crown follows a day in the 16th century life of Hellboy’s ‘Hell family.’” says Todd Mignola. “In the bowels of Castle Azzael, a crown is secretly being forged for a new king. Palace intrigue and deceitful backstabbing ensue as Hellboy’s dad, uncle and half-brothers all vie for the prize; for the chance to seize sleeping Satan’s throne.”

Mike Mignola is the critically acclaimed creator of the beloved, demonic hero Hellboy and remains one of the preeminent comics creators of the modern era. His career was already firmly established for his outstanding work on characters like Batman, Dr. Strange, Wolverine, a myriad of beautiful covers… and then came Hellboy. Mignola’s iconic creation struck an immediate chord with fans and hasn’t abated in the 30-plus years since the character’s debut.

An Artist’s Edition is an art book disguised as a comic collection. Although appearing to be in black and white, all the art is scanned in color, enabling the reader to see the work as close to the original as possible – ink gradients, blue pencil, and all the unique nuances that make original art so special – are all clearly visible and printed at the same size as drawn. The only better way to experience these pages is by looking at the artist’s drawing board, as they’re drawing.

Charting the incredible journey and relentless courage of activist Opal Lee—known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth—to bring recognition of American Emancipation from local advocacy to state capitols all the way to the White House, this biographical graphic novel pairs acclaimed journalist, producer, and author Angélique Roché (My Super Hero is Black) with a trio of talented artists—including Alvin Epps (I Survived Hurricane Katrina, 2005: A Graphic Novel), Bex Glendining (the upcoming Indigo Port), and rising star Millicent Monroe – who each chronicle a different interlocking chapter in Ms. Lee’s own arduous life alongside the true struggles and travails of the millions of Black Americans who lived the reality of the first Juneteenth celebrations at the close of the Civil War in 1865 and the aftermath that would follow their children for generations to come.
From the 1860s to Ms. Opal’s childhood home and onward through her years as a teacher to receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2024, First Freedom: The Story of Opal Lee and Juneteenth seeks to give readers an insight into the history behind one of the most recognized figures in the creation of America’s newest federal holiday, Juneteenth.

Ms. Opal’s life personifies the resilience that leads to lasting change in the hearts and minds of people. As the Grandmother of Juneteenth says, “If people can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love.”

Alvin Epps is an artist/illustrator known for his otherworldly aesthetic, blurring the lines between fine arts and digital arts media. He has worked creating cover art and visuals for comic books, graphic novels, album covers, film/TV, and animation. His work has been featured by publishers including Simon & Schuster, Penguin Random House, and Scholastic Inc.
Millicent Monroe is a graphic novelist who illustrates historical stories with an emotional core.
Bex Glendining is a biracial queer, UK based illustrator, comic artist and colourist. Their debut graphic novel Indigo Port is scheduled for a 2025 release with Abrams Books. When not working they can usually be found building miniature rooms, playing video games with friends or fussing Cookie, their very spoiled tortoiseshell cat.
