Ok, how about this for an idea.  We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day.  This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent.  What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme.  I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A".  Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B".  The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man".  However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S".  Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes.  So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.

If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Some people's road trips don't last very long. I assume that's Peter Parker in the yellow car.

“Highway to Nowhere”

Hitch-hiking is one of the cheaper ways to take a Road Trip.

Though, to be honest, I'm not sure that's the main reason that Bugs is hitching here.

Since McDonald's is beginning its Autumn pumpkin spice* drinks, I think it's a good time to post there Autumn gatherings wrap-around covers from Disney..

It's great to be able to go to weddings again...

I read that issue of Marvel Premiere! Here's a goofier entry:

And a calendar looking towards the final weekend of summer:

And here's how Minnie was enjoying summer this very week, in Beano #4100, cover date 28-Aug-21

(Footnote on one of the "Also inside..." features.  "Widl" is the name of the Beanotown supermarket. This is obviously a name intended to amuse the comic's target audience of 8 year old kids, and inspired by the real-life supermarket chain Lidl.  Does the rude joke still work on the other side of the Atlantic, or do none of you have any idea what I'm talking about?)

Hey, they never proved those tapes of Trump exist!

Oui, we understand, or at least, I've heard the term used in Canada, so you're in good company. However, I don't hear it very often.

Language is so fluid.

Here are a couple of Goofy covers. In the first he seems to be anticipating social distancing. In the second, he's invited to a larger picnic.

More roadtrip stuff...

Interesting, your comment about McDonalds. Here in the UK, McDonalds have had to take milkshakes off the menu in many shops, following delivery problems in getting milkshake products from suppliers to the stores.  Two sides to the Atlantic - 2 very different stories...
