I’ve been looking forward to this one… for longer than one might imagine. The Avengers, as a group, has been around for a long time (a fact pointed out in the “And there came a day” introduction: “…but that was a while ago.”). I had always hoped to see the team grow more of less organically into a future version. I don’t think that’s what’s happened here, but I’ve been away from the Avengers so long that it wouldn’t have made any difference (to me) if it had. Apparently Tony Starks car morphs into a suit of armor now. After having just watched 20 or so episodes of the Toei Spider-Man, I find this amusing for some reason. The dialogue points out that there currently is no official Avengers team…? Can that be true? With all of the Avengers titles out there?
I like seeing Sam Wilson as Captain America, but it’s a bit odd seeing Captain America with wings. Then again, it would be odd seeing Sam Wilson without them. I can give him some advice about fundraisers, though. I learned this trick from my high school band director, and it served me well when I became a teacher myself, and it continues to serve me for fundraisers in the workplace today. Simply buy whatever is being sold from the first person who asks you. That’s it. Whichever Girl Cadet asked him from off panel is the one he should have bought from.

I've read all the Avengers-named #1s to this point, and I suppose the argument could be made that there is no official Avengers team -- if by "official" you mean sanctioned by Tony Stark and/or paid for by Tony Stark.

Iliked this book well enough that I'm going to give #2 a try. I hope it doesn't take six issues just to assemble the team.
Yeah, I meant to say something about that, too. So far, the "all-new, all-different" Avengers haven't even assembled.
