  • On our way home after lunch today, we saw a couple of animals we didn't recognize crossing the road in front of us. We've spent a good bit of the rest of the day trying to figure out what they were. They looked like long-legged otters or maybe very large minks.

    • After further research, I am quite certain that what we saw was a mother jaguarundi and its kitten. They're not supposed to be here, but I'm now pretty sure that's what we say.

    • Animals have a habit of turning up where you wouldn't expect them to be. I'm reasonably certain that I once saw a coyote here on the Island, and we're not exactly what you'd think of as "coyote territory".  Dunno what the Hell they eat, there's no road runners around here.

    • Just spread out some anvils and ACME catalogues in places where they've been sighted and they should take themselves out fairly quickly.

  • Re Bucky, reportedly he was really named after a friend of Simon's. There's a character named Bucky Williams in the penultimate S&K instalment of "Blue Bolt", which was done at the same time. Cap's Bucky is introduced in Captain America Comics #1 as "Bucky Barnes, mascot of the regiment". I don't know when the James Buchanan explanation was introduced.

  • In the Captain's early DC thread, should I post comments on stuff covered more than a couple of days ago as sub-posts on that part of the conversation, or as an ordinary latest comment?
