Contemporary fashions for worshippers of Yum-Chac. Women: bare backs, bras, capes over the right shoulder, semi-transparent skirts, permed hair. Men: masks, short dickeys, slit skirts, anklets, and exotic codpieces.

From "Hawkman", All-Star Comics #2.

The cover of Mystic #41 is attributed to Carl Burgos. When "The Test!" was reprinted in Chamber of Chills an altered version of the cover was used. I find the comparison interesting, because of the differences the changes make. According to the GCD Nick Caputo's assessment is the main figures and creature on the Chamber of Chills cover "were likely penciled by Ron Wilson with corrections by Marie Severin".

An article about the short stories that were adapted in the movies The Birds (1963) and Don't Look Now (1973), both by Daphne Du Maurier. I've seen both movies and have read The Birds.

If you read The Birds, you may come away, as I did, with the impression that the bird uprising is worldwide, unlike the movie.

For Halloween, here's a story from Feature Funnies #19. Images from Comic Book Plus. Click to enlarge.

I used Dall-E to generate images of Scaramouche doing the fandango:

Dance a cachucha, fandango, bolero,
Xeres we'll drink — Manzanilla, Montero —
Wine, when it runs in abundance, enhances
The reckless delight of that wildest of dances!
To the pretty pitter, pitter, patter,
And the clitter, clitter, clitter, clatter,
Clitter, clitter, clatter,
Pitter, pitter, patter,
Clitter, clitter, clatter,
Clitter, clitter —
To the pretty pitter, pitter, patter,
And the clitter, clitter, clitter, clatter,
Pitter, pitter, pitter,
Patter, patter, patter,
Patter, we'll dance.

From here.

I wasn’t able to vote in the 1968 Presidential election because back then you had to be 21. My first election for California Governor and Congress was 1970; for President and Congress, 1972. Because I was working for the Registrar of Voters on Election Day I had always voted absentee ballots, being stuck at the office. I still do. I occasionally post this image that I created on my Facebook page. Yesterday I posted it with the suggestion that, if bad weather was predicted, people should vote early.

I will worry and hope for the country to the south of me and its future. Everyone's future.

But since I cannot do much about that now, I asked Dall-E to generate a picture of Rodan by Rodin:

I think it's a pretty august looking statue.

Atom Tickets did an interesting write-up on the MCU's Namor and his divergence from the character in the comics.
