Bad Shirt Idea??

Without getting into the whole story, just saw a shirt for a 1-2 year old which had Iron Man and Captain America on it. The odd thing is that Iron Man is taking a punch at Cap, who is deflecting the punch with his shield.

Why would Marvel have a shirt with its two most popular heroes and have one taking a punch at the other?? It makes no sense.

Has anyone else seen this shirt? If so, what was your first impression of it?

  • The image sounds like the one from the cover of Tales of Suspense #58, although I suppose it could be something from Civil War. People sometimes print shirts themselves (or pirate images).
  • It makes sense to me, in the time-honored tradition of stimulating discussion over who's stronger/faster/better than who -- y'know, the Thing vs. the Hulk, Superman vs. Thor, Captain America over Batman ...
  • That is THE boy activity...I'm one hero...you're another...and we FIGHT!

...Not to mention the all-time definitive " when Marvel heroes meet " readymade ( hur hur hur ) ???????????
  • Good call Luke. That's exactly the image on the shirt! ToS #58. Still doesn't make sense to me, though.

  • If enough people bought the shirt to make the producers a profit, it was a good call.
