  • So far for best single issue I'm going to remember Invincible Iron Man #500.
  • For best cover I'm going to file away the cover for Zatanna #10. It's simple but still pretty cool.http://www.comicsbulletin.com/reviews/images/1103/zatanna10.jpeg
  • I tend not to have good nominees for best Webcomic. But if Mike Norton's Battlepug keeps up like this, it'll be on my list for sure!

  • Wow, that was pretty good. I don't read webcomics, typically. It never occurs to me that they're out there. I enjoy the art on this one. I'll make sure I follow it.
  • Two of the best single issues of the year came out this week: Detective #875 And Jimmy Olsen #1. As different as two excellent comics featuring troublesome redheads can be.

  • I'll have to remember X-23 #8 for best fight scene.  The throw-down between her and Daken was incredible.
  • A couple of series to remember come nomination time: Rocketeer Adventures and Amazing Spider-Man.
  • I should definitely consider James Gordon Jr. as 2011's best villain. And the fight scene in Snyder's last issue of Detective is probably worth a nomination, too. Between Barbara, James and Batman, it was absolutely brutal, horror-movie stuff.
  • A few more specific suggestions to myself: Rupert Giles for the RIP Award and Colossus becoming Juggernaut as the biggest surprise.
  • Secret Avengers #16 is in the running for me for best one-shot story. It's Warren Ellis's first issue on the series. It's a good one issue action story that still has the team taking on the Shadow Council. It's also a nice departure from the horrible Fear Itself tie-ins we've had on the series for the past few months.

Not certain yet but the final cover to the Zatanna series may get a nomination from me. Nothing specail but it's a fitting cover for a final issue.
