SKINBREAKER #7
“When I first heard that Robert Kirkman and David Finch were teaming up for a new series, I had pretty high expectations. What I didn’t expect was to be completely blown away by what might be one of the most ambitious comic projects I’ve seen in years.” - First Comics News
“The most powerful aspect of this book’s careful pacing is Kirkman’s instinct for balance -knowing when to let the art carry the story and when to drop in those sharp, devastating lines of dialogue that cut straight to the heart” - Lotusland Comics
LOS ANGELES 2/26/2026 — Today Skybound and Image Comics shared the first look at Skinbreaker #7, from the iconic creative team of co-creator/writer Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead), co-creator/artist David Finch (Batman, New Avengers), colorist Annalisa Leoni (Invincible Universe: Battle Beast), and letterer Rus Wooton (TRANSFORMERS). The penultimate issue of this breathtaking action epic hits comic book shelves on March 25, 2026.
A new threat comes for all Anok and Paca hold dear. Who will survive?
In addition to the main cover by David Finch & Annalisa Leoni, the cover lineup for Skinbreaker #7 includes a portrait variant cover by Finch & Leoni and incentive variant covers by all-star artists Lorenzo De Felici, Eric Canete, and Tony Moore.

UNIVERSAL MONSTERS: THE PHANTOM STRIKES #2 (OF 4)
“Gothic, horrific, and yes, operatic, Phantom of the Opera sees two of my favorite creators take center stage to deliver a spellbinding performance you won’t soon forget.” – James Tynion IV (Exquisite Corpses)
“Boss has tapped into everything I never knew I needed from the Phantom of The Opera story and Simmond's lush and ethereal execution of that approach is densely sublime." – Kelly Thompson (Absolute Wonder Woman)
LOS ANGELES 2/26/2026 — Today Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics, in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences, revealed the cover lineup and preview pages for Universal Monsters: Phantom of the Opera #2, from the creative duo of Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things) and Martin Simmonds (Universal Monsters: Dracula,The Department of Truth). Universal Monsters: Phantom of the Opera is the sixth Universal Monsters series launch, following James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’ Dracula (which netted Simmonds a BEST PAINTER/MULTIMEDIA ARTIST (INTERIOR ART) Eisner Award nomination), Ram V, Dan Watters, and Matthew Roberts’ Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!, Michael Walsh’s Frankenstein, Faith Erin Hick’s The Mummy, and James Tynion IV and DANI’s The Invisible Man.
Phantom of the Opera will be followed by an additional new Universal Monsters limited series pairing the biggest names in comics with pop culture’s most iconic monsters in the bestselling modern line of horror comics.
Universal Monsters: Phantom of the Opera #2 (of 4) (Lunar Codes below | SRP: $4.99, unless otherwise noted) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #36
PORTLAND, Ore. 02/24/2026 — Eisner Award nominated artist Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night, Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse, Fell) will join the team as interior artist on James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’ bestselling thriller series The Department of Truth for an all-new story arc. This savage new chapter will begin next month with The Department of Truth #36 out from Image Comics.
“Ben is actually one of the first-ever artists we dreamed of inviting to do a guest story arc of The Department of Truth way back when the series launched, so it’s thrilling to have him on this story that’s millions of years in the making," said Tynion. "He’s been a natural fit for our messed-up little world and we can’t wait for readers to see what we’ve been building these last few months. Not only will we be digging up the buried history of one of the Department’s legacy families, we’ll also be revealing the evangelical origins of Charity, the deadliest new member of Lee’s crew. Also dinosaurs. Lots of dinosaurs.”
Templesmith added: “I am that child you shouldn't give scissors to, because I'm clearly going to run around with them. But it's hellishly fun to run around with what James and Martin have done with The Department of Truth and let me have a little go. It's been a blast!"
In the early '90s, cable TV is king and something ancient is watching from the static. Only Hunky—the reclusive son of the field office’s very first hunter—takes its threat seriously. And when Hunky notices primordial evil brewing at an evangelical theme park in the Florida Everglades, he may be the only one who can save the beautiful young woman named Charity caught in the middle of it all…
The Department of Truth #36 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, March 25.

WHAT IF LIFE IN A SUPER-VILLAIN ORGANIZATION WAS LESS LIKE A JAMES BOND MOVIE AND MORE LIKE WORKING AT WALMART CORPORATE?
FROM EMMY AWARD-WINNING WRITER PETER MURRIETA (MR. IGLESIAS) AND WRITER/FILMMAKER DAVID SCHRADER (BABY BADASS)
RAFAEL GARCIA: HENCHMAN brings the old familiar tropes of a DARK WORKPLACE COMEDY by way of a brand-new cinematic superhero universe.
An action comedy that mixes the daily grind of The Office with the slacker absurdity of Stripes - if the General in charge was more like Lex Luthor.

Old Man me ordered it from Westfield.
"Old Man Andrew, that Old Man Andrew,
He must know somethin', but he don't say nothin'.
He just keeps Andrewin' along!"
Sure, I'll get this book. How can I not?
I dunno... it was pretty easy for me not to get the Batman/Deadpool one.
There have been approximately 5,000 variant covers released for this book.
Here's what I do in lieu of buying multiple variant covers. I hang onto Marvel's "Previews" catalog until the comic itself is released, then I tear out the pages advertising the variants (usually full-size) and slip them into the bag behind the board. In that way, I get to have my variant and eat it, too (or something).
12-year-old me thinks this idea is neat-o.
60-something-year-old me thinks someone should have asked "Cesar Romero" to shave his moustache to play Mr. Fantastic.

Either one of those would be stunning. Decisions, decisions...

Mandrake Dailes v3 has already been relesed. v4 was solicited for release back in 2025 (and has not yet shipped), and v5 for July 2026.
The most recent volume of Phantom Dailies to have been released was v34, so I don't know what's up with this.
60-something-year-old me thinks someone should have asked "Cesar Romero" to shave his moustache to play Mr. Fantastic.
I don't mind the mustache. Without it, he doesn't even look like Pedro Pascal. Of course, I may be prejudiced, having had a mustache since 1977.

This is Hermes re-soliciting, or getting wider distribution for, material originally solicited through Diamond. There's a flood of "old" material sorting through the market, as a host of small publishers have suddenly found new distriibutors. (It's like a dam broke somewhere.) Usually I get a head's up when an item says "originally solicited elsewhere" or something. This one didn't have one of those.
