DOCTOR STRANGE #1, $4.99: I've been a Doctor Strange fan since the Ditko days, but I know he's not everyone's cup of tea. In my case, the Li'l Cap'n thought, "Wait, all this guy did to become a superhero was study books? I can do that!" It was too late to be born on another planet, so I couldn't be Superman. But I could be Doctor Strange.
Not that I'll be picking this up right away. I learned my lesson with Doctor Strange of Asgard: If it's good enough to keep, it's good enough to have in collected form. So I'll tradewait.

DOCTOR STRANGE JOURNEYS DEEPER INTO MYSTERY THAN EVER BEFORE IN NEW ONGOING COMIC BOOK SERIES!
Derek Landy and Ivan Fiorelli launch a new DOCTOR STRANGE ongoing series this December.
New York, NY— August 13, 2025 — No longer Sorcerer Supreme of Earth, Stephen Strange embarks on adventures in Asgard and beyond this December in DOCTOR STRANGE, a new ongoing comic book series by acclaimed writer Derek Landy (Infinity Watch) and rising star Ivan Fiorelli (Fantastic Four). Main covers will feature the breathtaking painted artwork of legendary fantasy illustrator Alex Horley.
DOCTOR STRANGE explores the character’s bold new status quo as Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard. Following Thor’s rebirth as a mortal in Al Ewing and Pasqual Ferry’s newly launched Thor run, Asgard’s connection to Midgard has been shattered, leaving Strange no way to return to Earth. Instead, Strange will team up with Angela, in her long awaited return, for a true Journey Into Mystery across the other realms! Armed with new abilities and weapons thanks to his growing proficiency with Asgardian magic, Strange will discover the wonder these otherworldly realms truly have to offer—along with the ancient threats submerged in their mythologies. Get a glimpse at some of the new faces Doctor Strange will encounter on his quest, from the royal family of Heven to a dark elvish sorcerer, in never-before-seen design sheets. Plus, next month’s DOCTOR STRANGE #450 one-shot includes a special prelude story by Landy and Fiorelli, introducing his mission and teasing his new mystical arsenal. It’ll also debut his new look, designed by artist Geoff Shaw.
STEPHEN STRANGE, STRANDED!
After becoming Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard, Strange lost his chance at redemption—and revenge against Doom—when Loki murdered Thor, cutting Midgard off from the other nine realms. With no way home and few allies remaining in Asgard, Strange travels to Alfheim to investigate an emerging crisis. But in an unfamiliar land, can Strange prevent elves and angels from going to war over a mysterious coffin? Maybe, with some help from Heven’s own Angela!
“You might think that Stephen Strange is on firmer ground now that he's become Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard, but he's about to be shoved face first into dangerous new territory, and his only guide is the baddest Angel of them all — Angela!” Landy shared. “I'm beyond thrilled to be working with Ivan and Dono [Sánchez-Almara] on continuing Strange's adventures away from Midgard, and the fact that we also get to delve a little deeper into Angelic society on Heven, and how it interacts with the rest of the Ten (now Nine!) Realms, is a huge and unexpected bonus. In a determined effort to stay true to the origins of the character, the story we're telling is only going to get bigger, crazier, and more mind-bending — and we're inviting all of you along for the ride.”
"Jumping into Doctor Strange’s world has been pure artistic joy,” Fiorelli said. “It’s so different from anything I’ve worked on before, and it lets me go wild with the weird, magical elements that make his stories so unique. On top of that, getting to design new characters from scratch is an incredible honor, knowing they’ll join the Marvel Universe forever. Paired with Derek’s thrilling story and Dono’s jaw-dropping colors, this is an adventure fans won’t want to miss!"
FANTASTIC FOUR #6, $3.99: I reversed course and told my LCS to keep on pulling FF after all. It's often a feel-good book, which is a pleasant change from all the grimdark stuff. I think I may have missed issue #5, but that's what the internet is for.
And I like the sound of "Invincible Woman." Especially when you're married to a guy who calls himself "Mr. Fantastic." And Sue is a lot more invincible these days than invisible. So if she decides to take the name, I wouldn't mind.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR FACE THE MALICE OF... THE INVINCIBLE WOMAN!
Ryan North and Humberto Ramos introduce THE INVINCIBLE WOMAN, a cold-hearted and immensely powerful Sue Storm from an alternate universe, in a new story arc of their acclaimed FANTASTIC FOUR run, kicking off in December’s FANTASTIC FOUR #6.
The issue will come with a Marvel Rivals redeem code for an in-game MALICE WILL RULE spray featuring Invisible Woman’s iconic “Malice” costume.
New York, NY— September 30, 2025 — This December, learn what would happen if the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four held nothing back with the debut of THE INVINCIBLE WOMAN! A twisted, alternate version of Invisible Woman, INVINCIBLE WOMAN will headline an upcoming arc of writer Ryan North and artist Humberto Ramos’ celebrated run of FANTASTIC FOUR, starting with issue #6. Driven mad by her power and tormented by a tragic mistake that cost her everything, INVINCIBLE WOMAN resembles Malice, Sue’s dark persona that was first unleashed by Psycho Man during John Byrne’s legendary run on the title.
After being added to Marvel Rivals earlier this year, Sue’s iconic Malice costume became one of the game’s most sought-after costumes. To celebrate its popularity, FANTASTIC FOUR #6 will include a redeem code for players to unlock an exclusive new in-game MALICE WILL RULE spray. (Terms and conditions apply. See book for details.) Today, fans can check out the main covers for FANTASTIC FOUR #6-8 along with newly revealed variant covers, including a Hidden Gem variant cover by Malice creator John Bryne. FANTASTIC FOUR #6 will also feature a special Marvel Rivals variant cover spotlighting artwork from the game.
“GET SUE STORM. SO SAYS GALACTUS!”
When a message hidden in the structure of reality is decoded, Sue Storm becomes the most wanted super hero in the universe. And that makes both her – and planet Earth – a target for invasion! The Fantastic Four venture into space to answer Galactus’ call, and together, they’ll discover the terrifying mystery of the INVINCIBLE WOMAN, forcing Sue to confront possibilities of her powers that she never dared to imagine! Meanwhile, back on Earth, the junior Fantastic Four step up in the main team’s absence!
It all begins in FANTASTIC FOUR #6--THE INVINCIBLE WOMAN, PART 1!
Extremophile aliens have invaded Earth! Their plan: stop the planet's rotation so the same side always faces the sun, and then colonize that boiling, deadly side for themselves. Only the Fantastic Four can save the Earth from destruction! But none of their powers involve altering the Earth's rotation...or do they? And when the Wizard takes advantage of the chaos to attack the Baxter Building, there may be more going on here than meets the eye - including a discovery that'll change the fate of the Fantastic Four forever! Science, family and punching collide in this issue. PLUS: The beginnings of the all-new Future Foundation?
“Sue has played a lot of roles over her lifetime, and I think she's a really fascinating character,” North shared. “She's smart, she's funny, and she's determined. The Invincible Woman isn't our Sue Storm—and our Sue Storm isn't going anywhere—but she is a version of her that had different things happen over the course of her life. Of course, we've seen a similar situation with The Maker, but the true danger of the Fantastic Four was never an evil Reed Richards—it's an unchained Susan Storm.”

Get a first look at the covers and interior artwork for the debut issue of HULK: SMASH EVERYTHING, the new series by Ryan North and Vincenzo Carratù, hitting stands on December 3
New York, NY— October 7, 2025 — HULK: SMASH EVERYTHING, an awe-inspiring new epic from the minds of writer Ryan North (One World Under Doom, Fantastic Four) and artist Vincenzo Carratù (Psylocke, Dracula: Blood Hunt) kicks off this December. The five-issue limited series sees Hulk on a riotous rampage across time and space! Tremendous trials await, each demonstrating Hulk’s outrageous strength like never before as the green goliath overpowers everything and anything—from fellow heroes to magnificent creatures to cosmic forces. The breathtaking battles will escalate wildly across the series, until all that’s left standing is THE HULK! Today, fans can enjoy a special preview of the wild series along with all the covers for the debut issue AND the reveal of the second issue!
A GUARANTEED SMASH HIT!
Is Hulk really the strongest there is? Sure, he’s stronger than most PEOPLE…but is he really stronger than EVERYTHING? Dinosaurs? Planets? Gravity? Cosmic forces? Find out here because when we say Hulk takes on all-comers in this new saga, we really mean it! It’s non-stop action in the classic mighty Marvel manner!
“Hulk is a perfect character, and Phillip Kennedy Johnson is doing incredible things with him in Incredible Hulk. This series is an evergreen (no pun intended) story that features an ever-increasing series of things being smashed by Hulk across all five issues. It goes to some wild places that I promise you are not expecting (and one, if you know me, that you are) and, through all the chaos and smashing, also tells what I think is a pretty sweet story about this big green guy,” North said.
“I think Bruce's mind is one of the most fascinating in the Marvel Universe,” Carratù shared. “Since Peter David's introduction of his multiple personalities, Hulk has been a constant rediscovery, and drawing him right now means a lot to me. Who among us, in a moment of rage, hasn't thought about smashing everything? We'll explore this facet of his identity and this time, we're giving him free rein. It'll be a lot of fun and truly crazy as Ryan and I push him into the most absurd corners of the universe with no limits!”
Then stay tuned for HULK: SMASH EVERYTHING #2, on sale in January, where HULK SMASHES HISTORY! Pencils down, True Believers, and pay attention to this next history lesson! For centuries, scholars believed dinosaurs to be among some of the fiercest creatures to ever roam Earth during its prehistoric age – until HULK arrived… Pangea? Evolution? Forget it! History as we know it is about to get SMASHED!
“The pitch for this story was to take Hulk and put him in some situations he hasn’t been in before – situations in which even he would find himself challenged to smash – and then, to survive that smashing,” North told ComicBook.com. “We got to take the story to some wild places – places that are being drawn in ASTOUNDING detail by Vincenzo – and I am really looking forward to seeing people’s reactions, especially to the last page of the first issue.”

WICCAN WALKS THE WITCHES' ROAD TO MYSTICAL GREATNESS IN FIRST-EVER SOLO COMIC SERIES
WICCAN: WITCHES’ ROAD, a five-issue limited comic series by Wyatt Kennedy and Andy Pereira, launches in December.
New York, NY— August 20, 2025 — Wiccan, the son of the Scarlet Witch, claims his place in Marvel’s magical hierarchy in WICCAN: WITCHES’ ROAD, his first solo series. Launching in December WICCAN: WITCHES ROAD will be a five-issue limited comic series written by rising star Wyatt Kennedy (X-Men: The Wedding Special) and newcomer Andy Pereira, in his exciting Marvel Comics debut.
Since bursting on the comic scene as a Young Avenger, Wiccan became one of his generation of heroes’ biggest breakout stars! Now, following the character’s live-action debut in Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along last year, Wiccan headlines a saga that explores his mighty legacy and the very nature of his immense mystical power! Following Wiccan and Hulkling’s part in Jonathan Hickman’s Imperial, Hulkling’s life on the line, forcing Wiccan to take a spellbinding trip down, down the Witches’ Road, where he’ll face a new enemy and discover his unique role in protecting Earth from magical threats.
SOMETHING WICCAN THIS WAY COMES!
A dark, macabre adventure awaits down the Witches’ Road that will reshape Wiccan—and the magical fabric of the Marvel Universe—forever… Wiccan and Hulkling arrive back on Earth, but nothing is ever easy for Marvel’s favorite (former) space emperors! With Hulkling grievously wounded, it’s up to Wiccan to save the day—but what lengths will he be willing to go to do so?
"It's a real thrill to be able to take Billy in such an unexpected direction and put him out of his element, introducing a new villain and a surprising ally that I know fans have been wanting to see. Obviously getting the chance to write one of Marvel's best couples is a joy, but I'm really excited to dive deep into who Billy is as a single individual and explore what his title as Wiccan really means to both himself and the greater Marvel universe."
On making his Marvel Comics debut, Pereira shared, "Drawing for Marvel is living out a childhood dream of mine. My fifteen-year-old self is completely over the moon, but I didn't do it alone! There were many people who helped me in my artistic and personal growth—my friends and parents who didn't let me give up, especially Fábio Yabu who believed in me and taught me much of what I know about comics, Sara Pichelli for inspiring me, and of course, the most special one, my girlfriend who is an amazing partner!”
“I’m very happy that my debut is also Wiccan’s debut as a solo star, and the whole team and I are putting a lot of effort into making it the best it could be!” he continued. “I hope this is the first of many stories. I’m so excited to be drawing Billy and Teddy, in their really cool designs, along with the atmosphere Wyatt is doing a great job at creating. This being the Witches’ Road, the most challenging part is all the trees!”
WICCAN: WITCHES’ ROAD #1 will boast covers by some of today’s hottest artists including Lucas Werneck, who will provide the series’ main covers, as well as superstars like Russell Dauterman and Luciano Vecchio. Check them out now along with a sneak peek at Andy Pereira’s interior artwork. But even in the blasted rubble of civilization, the surviving elders of the Resistance have fond memories of the holiday - and in between drone attacks, the younger members are eager to hear about them.
The story of the jolly old man in a red suit who infiltrated people's perimeters is especially intriguing. How did he avoid the sentries and guard dogs? What kind of exfiltration technique was he using? And most important, did he have glowing red eyes that matched his fur-trimmed hat - like the hulking figure that's now advancing on their position?

DRAGONS OF PARIS HC, $24.99: What th-!?
(W) Joann Sfar (A/CA) Tony Sandoval
What if dragons invaded Paris during the belle epoque? Writer Joann Sfar and illustrator Tony Sandoval weave their imaginations into a canvas of adventures, battles, sacrifices, love, and humor. A folkloric, playful, and liberating journey, told in breathtaking, epic beauty.
Paris, 1900. For thousands of years, dragons have lived hidden from everyone, sealed in statues and gargoyles throughout the city. Legend has it that only the sacrifice of a being of great magic can protect Paris from their wrath and maintain their slumber. But when a roguish Hawaiian princess rescues a mermaid from suspicious danger, the malevolent shadow of dragons grows once again over the City of Lights. From the catacombs to the parvis of Notre-Dame, a romance is born under the awakening of a thousand-year-old evil.

AFTERBURN: BAD BLOOD #1 (OF 4), $4.95, is a sequel to the graphic novel that inspired the 2025 movie Afterburn, starring Dave Bautista and Sam Jackson. It came out in September, according to Wiki, but I don't remember hearing about it. It's set in a post-apocalyptic future, after a solar flare has wiped out the Eastern Hemisphere. (If it had wiped out the Western Hemisphere, I suppose this would be a Korean movie!) Dave Bautista is a treasure hunter who goes into the Burn Zone to find the Mona Lisa. Maybe it'll pop up on Netflix or something.

SOLOMON KANE THE ORIGINAL COMICS OMNIBUS VOLUME 1 HC, $125.00, collects Marvel Premiere #33-34; Sword of Solomon Kane #1-6; material from Conan Saga #50, Dracula Lives! #3, Kull and the Barbarians #2-3, Marvel Preview #19, Monsters Unleashed #1 and Savage Sword of Conan #13-14, 18-20, 22, 25, 26, 33-34, 37, 39, 41, 53-54, 62, 83, 162, 169, 171, 219 and 220. Lord, do I remember these comics and magazines. They were my introduction to the character, and hit me at just the right age (about 16 and up). I might get this just for the nostalgia factor. It's a cheap price to remember being a teenager again.

DC K.O. #2 leads to the "Superman vs. Captain Atom" one-shot (and three others, also in December). Despite my initial reluctance, this is proving to be an interesting event, and beautifully (if imperfectly) implemented. #2 advances the plot in ways that are both logical and surprising, which a few nice bits of characterization for flavor.
It was too late to be born on another planet, so I couldn't be Superman. But I could be Doctor Strange... Not that I'll be picking this up right away.
For s split second I thought you meant were putting off studying to become Sorceror Supreme.
If it's good enough to keep, it's good enough to have in collected form.
Isn't it funny how we all now just expect everything to be collected.
"Malice Will Rule."
"Silence will fall. The Pandorica will open."
This is for the youngs, I imagine.
Again? But that trick never works!
DC FINEST: SUPERMAN -- THE INVISIBLE LUTHOR TP collects stories published in Action Comics #26-40, Superman #6-11, New York World's Fair Comics #2, World's Best Comics #1, and World's Finest Comics #2-3.
You might not think reading these early stories in struct chronoligical order is all that important, but take it from someone who has recently read them out of order, it is.
JSA #14, Year One part 2
It strikes me that the house ad DC has been using to promote this series would have made a better first cover than the one they actually used.
LIMITED COLLECTORS' EDITION #43: CHRISTMAS WITH THE SUPER-HEROES FACSIMILE EDITION
I still have my original, and I even break it out to read over the holidays every couple of years.
TERMINATOR: SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN #1 (ONE-SHOT)
"You'd better watch out... You'd better not cry... You'd better not pout... Or YOU'RE DEAD!"
Liam Sharp is clearly doing his best Wally Wood on Cover B.
Oh, yeah.
TRIGGER WARNING: A STRANGERS IN PARADISE STORY #1 (ONE-SHOT): I know one Legionnaire who's going to be happy to see this.
Why whomever could you mean?
DEATH DOG #2 (OF 2)
If you liked the recent Krypto mini-series, you'll like Death Dog.
I'd rather read about old favorites like Scarlet Witch, Doctor Fate, Spectre or Doctor Strange than some new kid.
Wiccan's been around for twenty years, so I'm not sure whether he still qualifies as a "new" character anymore. Of course, I still think of Firestorm as a "new" character, so who am I to talk?
