Is that Krakoa, the Living Island in the second image?  Has it appeared again since Giant-Size X-Men #1 back in 1975?

 

And is that the nice Broodling in the suit in the first pic?

Krakoa was my first thought, too. Of course, the retcon "Deadly Genesis" changed the island significantly, erasing its intelligence. Dunno if that will stick. Also, it was shot into space last I remember, so maybe it's his brother, Kratoa, or something.

He goes by the nickname "Krak."  That way Marvel can do an action-packed yarn while sending an important message by putting a sign on the island that states, "Stay off Krak.  Krak kills!"
